While holding an object above their heads, each tribe member will stand on top of a wooden perch. The last person left standing without dropping their object or losing their balance wins.
History[]
The challenge debuted as the Final Immunity Challenge of Survivor: The Amazon. Prior to the challenge, the final three were asked to design their own headdress. Then, at Tribal Council, they stood on their stools while holding their headdress above their heads. Infamously, Matthew von Ertfelda opted to throw the challenge and stepped down from his perch, leaving it to Jenna Morasca and Rob Cesternino to battle for the necklace. In the end, Rob lost his balance and Jenna won her fourth Immunity Challenge, tying the female record for Immunity Challenge victories.
The challenge appeared in Survivor South Africa: Return of the Outcasts and was played for tribal immunity and individual reward. Each castaway would stand on an elevated post in the water and hold a ball overhead; the last person standing from each tribe would win a trip to the Outpost, while the last person standing overall would win immunity for their tribe. Shortly before the 90-minute mark, the remaining Masu members convinced Yontau's Dino Paulo to step down and give Phil Dickson the Yontau win so that he could visit the Outpost. After Dino stepped down, the challenge proceeded for another half-hour, when Phil could no longer hold on, giving Masu immunity. Steffi Brink and Tejan Pillay then agreed to bail out to give Toni Tebbutt the trip to the Outpost.
