Why Aren't You Swimming?! is the eighth episode of Survivor: Cook Islands.

Story

“	After one castaway collapses from exhaustion during the Reward Challenge, the burden of completing the challenge is left to their other tribemates. When one Survivor chooses to sit out the physical portion of the Reward Challenge, the rest of the tribe becomes resentful of this person after their loss. With little shelter available, a raging storm makes one castaway's trip to Exile Island a nightmare. And, the eighth castaway is voted off the island.	”

Day 16

Aitutaki grilled Nate with questions since he was at their camp as part of the kidnapping twist. However, Jessica then expressed her disappointment with not knowing Cao Boi was going home the night before. Nate was thrilled to be getting good information from his opponents. Afterwards, Candice, Yul, and Becky tinkered with the order of who they wanted out next, deciding that Ozzy, Jessica, and Jonathan would be the next ones to go. Both tribes then received a catalog from which they would select two items to play for at the Reward Challenge. Aitutaki chose potatoes and peanut butter, while Rarotonga chose bread and peanut butter.

At the Reward Challenge, Aitutaki maintained a steady lead over Rarotonga, solving the puzzle before Rarotonga could open the chest. They immediately send Adam to Exile Island. They then wallowed in their new peanut butter reward.

Nate rejoined Rarotonga and immediately called out Brad for opting to compete in the puzzle section of the challenge when they needed strong swimmers.

At Exile Island, Adam was fed up with the tribe's losing streak. That night, he was battered by a harsh storm.

Day 17

Aitutaki awakes to Ozzy returning with a bird he caught. His tribe is enamored with his food-production abilities, making him a lot harder to vote out. He talks to Candice and Jessica about a potential alliance and his merit in terms of providing food.

Day 18

At the Immunity Challenge, Rarotonga came from behind to steal the victory from Aitutaki. Ozzy felt confident that he would be safe. Jessica went around lobbying to vote out Jonathan, but Sundra and Candice found her to be very annoying. Ultimately, the tribe was weighing Jessica's paranoia and weakness in challenges and Jonathan's untrustworthiness and plotting and scheming nature. 

At Tribal Council, Aitutaki came together and unanimously voted out Jessica, 6-1.

Challenge: Smash and Grab
One at a time, three players grab a club, swim out to a platform, climb it, smash a plaster box while jumping off to release a key, grab it, and swim back to shore. Once six keys have been retrieved (each swimmer must get at least one), two others use them to open a chest, grab the eight puzzle pieces from inside, and use them to assemble a 'map of the world'.
Reward: (for Aitutaki) Potatoes and peanut butter; (for Rarotonga) Bread and peanut butter.
Winner: Aitutaki (exiled Adam Gentry)

Challenge: Stairway to Heaven
The tribes must place twelve poles of varying lengths into their holders to form a staircase, and then run up it. One at a time, three ride a zipline to a pontoon, grab a bag of puzzle pieces, and swim back, then all three climb a ladder back to the platform, where the final three solve the puzzle, a timeline.
Winner: Rarotonga

	Ozzy	“	(voting against Jessica) I'm sorry, girl. It's what I gotta do to stay in the game. I'm sure you'll understand. I hope you'll understand.	”

	Jonathan	“	(voting against Jessica) I really admire your spirit, and I think, with another group of people, you would have coalesced and felt more comfortable. And at this point in the game, you were the oddest person out on our team. I appreciate all the hard work that you put into our challenges and all the work you did around the tribe. Good luck.	”

	Candice	“	(voting against Jessica) I know we haven't been the greatest of friends, but this is not a personal vote. This just has to do with what we need to do for our tribe in the future.	”

	Sundra	“	(voting against Jessica) Flicka, I don't even know what to say. I know you were trying to get me out, and you were trying to get everybody else out. You were just flying with the wind, going everywhere you could go, and it was just too, too hard to trust you. Sorry.	”

	Jessica	“	(voting against Jonathan) I didn't trust you before and I'm not gonna start now.	”

	Becky	“	(voting against Jessica) I'm just really tired of dealing with your wishy-washiness, your ongoing paranoia, and your desperate lies.	”

	Yul	“	(voting against Jessica) I admire your spunk, your spirit, your colorful personality. But Survivor is a game; that's why we're all here. You need to make a nominal effort to try to play the game. I think you did, ultimately, after Cao Boi left, but by then, it was too late. I wish you the best.	”

Final Words

	Jessica	“	It has been an adventure of a lifetime, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. I guess I wasn't playing the game as hard as I should've, but it's really hard for me to change who I am when I just want to be myself. Ozzy, good luck. I will be rooting for you, brother. And, uh, memories have been made that I will never forget and I am so thankful for those experiences.	”
