We Got a Rat is the third episode of Survivor: Cambodia.

Story[]

Day 6[]

At Ta Keo, as the tribe comes back from Tribal Council, Spencer Bledsoe thanks the tribe for keeping him. Spencer knows that he needs to play a more social game from now on and he wants to change and take advantage of his second chance at the game. Terry Deitz is pleased that Shirin Oskooi is gone and is confident that he is at the top of the heap and is playing a good social game. He has his sights set on Spencer if they go back to Tribal Council again soon.

Day 7[]

Host Jeff Probst welcomes the tribes to talk to him. He asks Ta Keo about sending Shirin home. Woo Hwang says that they have better team unity now. Kass McQuillen is surprised to see that Shirin is gone. Jeff tells them to drop their buffs and announces that they will be splitting from two tribes into three tribes. He says that six people will be at Ta Keo, six at Bayon, and six to a new beach where they have to start from scratch as if they were just beginning the game. Andrew Savage is not happy about this twist since he does not know anyone on the other tribe.

The castaways have to draw buffs blindly and then open to see what color buff they have. Anyone with a yellow buff has to start at the new Angkor camp. Jeff then sends them back to camp. Andrew is not pleased to be sent to Angkor, while Spencer is thrilled because the switch to Bayon has improved his odds.

At Angkor, the new tribe checks out the new camp. They have to start over with shelter and fire and find that they have no food. Jeff Varner tells Woo that Andrew is going to get on his nerves. Original Ta Keo members Woo, Jeff, Peih-Gee Law, and Abi-Maria Gomes talk about sticking together. Andrew and Tasha Fox are concerned about being in the minority as the only original Bayon members on the new tribe and know they are targets.

At Ta Keo, Keith Nale, Joe Anglim, Terry, Kelley Wentworth, and Kass chat and Terry is confident that he can swing votes his way. They have food and decide to make chicken and rice for dinner to celebrate. Kass and Ciera Eastin talk about how great this swap has been since they have four original Bayon members that can stick tight, plus a strong group for challenges. Kelley says she thinks Terry might have a Hidden Immunity Idol since he was out looking for it, though she is lying because she is the one who has it but wants to throw him under the bus in case the original Bayon majority are targeting the two former original Ta Keo.

At Bayon, the new tribemates talk and the original Bayon members Jeremy Collins, Kimmi Kappenberg, Monica Padilla, and Stephen Fishbach stick together, leaving original Ta Keo members and Spencer and Kelly Wiglesworth in the minority. Stephen is thrilled to be in a new camp and not be at the bottom. He feels safe and confident. Spencer has decided to play with more feelings. He talks to Jeremy about his girlfriend and not being comfortable telling her that he loves her. Spencer tries to bond with Jeremy to get further into the game. Jeremy gives him some relationship advice and this does make Jeremy like him better and he says that he trusts Spencer and likes him.

Day 8[]

Over at Angkor, everyone sits in the shelter trying to stay less wet and Terry stands out in the rain and rants. Tasha says she knows what it's like to not have food or shelter from her time on the Luzon tribe in Cagayan.

Abi-Maria and Peih-Gee squabble over which staying dry from the rain in the shelter. Tasha is pleased to see that the two do not like each other and hopes to leverage this to keep safe. Once the rain stops, Abi-Maria talks to Tasha about her former tribe. Tasha says that her old tribe got along together and tells Abi-Maria that if she sticks with her, they can join with her former tribe once they merge. Abi-Maria is listening to her and considering what to do. Tasha and Jeff talk about getting to the jury. Tasha talks about the tribe needing to keep her and Andrew for the merge because the other tribes have more original Bayon members.

Day 9[]

At Bayon, everyone is chasing a tiny scorpion out of their food. Stephen talks about the advantage they have since it is a 4-2 majority but is also worried about the Hidden Immunity Idol. He talks to Jeremy about it and says it could bond their alliance. The alliance goes looking around and Jeremy is frustrated looking for it since it can be anywhere. Stephen says it must be somewhere noticeable, but he has not found it yet.

Then, Jeremy finds a clue in a little tree full of leaves. It tells him where to find the idol at the next challenge. At the Immunity Challenge, Jeff takes back the idol from Monica then explains the challenge. There are two Immunity Idols for the time being for the first two tribes to win. The castaways have to push a cart through a course, get keys, unlock chests and put them on the cart. They then have to get three chests, take the cart apart, move it through a barricade, put it together, then open the chests to get pieces for a puzzle.

Jeff says this was the first challenge from Cagayan and notes that Spencer, Tasha, and Kass have all played this challenge and lost. As the three are on separate tribes, two of them will win, while one will again lose the challenge. The challenge starts and everyone is playing hard. Spencer gets the key for Bayon, then Woo gets it for Angkor and Kelley for Ta Keo. Woo gets the second key for Angkor, then Spencer for Bayon, and Kelley for Ta Keo. Ta Keo has their three chests first. As Bayon unlocks their third chest, Jeremy takes the Hidden Immunity Idol when no one is looking. Angkor then follows in getting their last chest.

Everyone is neck and neck as they take the carts apart, but Ta Keo is slightly ahead with Bayon in a close second as they start to deconstruct and reconstruct the carts. Ta Keo is still in the lead and Bayon and Angkor get their chests and move out. Ta Keo makes it past the obstacles since they cleared first. Ta Keo has Joe and Kass working on the puzzle. The other two tribes are unloading their chests now. Peih-Gee and Tasha, then Monica and Spencer work on the puzzles for Angkor and Bayon respectively.

The puzzle is a large round dragon. Joe and Kass are way in the lead, while Jeremy tags in for Monica and Woo subs in for Tasha. Angkor is way back and Joe and Kass have a solid lead then slide in the last piece to win immunity. It comes down to a close race between Bayon and Angkor. Bayon is down to five pieces, while Angkor has 10 pieces to go. Jeremy is frantically solving the puzzle and they have just two pieces left. Bayon has one piece left and they complete it to also win immunity, sending Angkor to Tribal Council.

After the challenge, Jeff tries to send a message to former Ta Keo ally Kelly. Tasha notices this and calls him out in front of everyone else. Jeff Probst asks what happened at the end of the challenge and Jeff explains that he looked at Kelly. Tasha says morale is down and Jeff points out that Andrew has been making conflicting deals with him and Peih-Gee. Woo is surprised at these revelations asks why Jeff does not include him in important conversations. Jeff is annoying everyone already and they have not even started talking about how to vote. Jeff Probst says this could be the beginning of a great underdog story and says he'll see them at Tribal Council later that night.

At camp, Andrew, who was initially worried that he was going home, is now hopeful that Jeff's meltdown will send him home. Andrew goes to Peih-Gee and Woo about Jeff and tells them that Jeff has been lazy around camp and is not any good at challenges. Woo talks to Peih-Gee and says that they will still be in the majority, but she wants to be cautious. Tasha talks to Abi-Maria and they decide to vote out Jeff. Abi-Maria says Jeff is too unpredictable and wants to send him home, but she also thinks Peih-Gee is sketchy.

Abi-Maria goes to talk to Woo and Peih-Gee and they tell her that the others want to send Jeff home. Abi-Maria says that she knows she is on the bottom with the others, but not with Andrew and Tasha. Peih-Gee wonders why Abi-Maria is showing so much animosity and now wants Abi-Maria out. Peih-Gee goes to Andrew and Tasha to ask them to eliminate Abi-Maria, which thrills Andrew. Andrew then goes to Abi-Maria and tells her what Peih-Gee said to them and Abi-Maria later goes to Jeff and asks him to target Peih-Gee. Jeff is happy to have the target off of him.

Tasha agrees to work with Peih-Gee, but Tasha is not sure what she wants to do. She says Abi-Maria is unpredictable and Peih-Gee cannot make up her mind. Abi-Maria and Peih-Gee are targeting each other so the members from the losing tribe get to make the swing vote decision.

At Tribal Council, Tasha and Andrew get their torches for the first time. Andrew says he was stunned by the tribe switch since they would lose their established camp and they are now in the minority. Jeff Probst asks Peih-Gee if Tasha and Andrew are in trouble and she says that is usually how it works. Then Jeff Probst asks Jeff what happened after the challenge. He says that he signaled to Kelly and Tasha called him a rat. He says that he's had no sleep and food and he had a meltdown. Tasha says he is part of this tribe and should not be cross-communicating and thinks that he is disloyal. Jeff says he would be happy to come out of tonight with no votes to send him out. Jeff says there are so many names that have been thrown around.

Jeff says he's heard his name, Peih-Gee, and Abi-Maria and says it looks like Andrew and Tasha are now at the top of the heap and can control this vote. Abi-Maria says she knows they could be targeting her based on camp conversations she that was not part of. Peih-Gee says she wants to be with people she can trust and tells the others that she is loyal and they can trust her. Abi-Maria says she has been working around camp and is committed to the new tribe. Jeff says he has no idea what will happen tonight.

He repeats that Andrew and Tasha are in charge of tonight's vote as he sees it. Peih-Gee votes for Abi-Maria, while Abi-Maria votes for Peih-Gee, saying that Peih-Gee talks too much. No one plays a Hidden Immunity Idol, and Andrew and Tasha blindside Peih-Gee, making her the third person eliminated from Survivor: Cambodia. Abi-Maria smiles with satisfaction and Peih-Gee wishes Woo luck.

Abi-Maria tells Woo that that is the second time he has written her name down. Now, Woo knows that he is at the bottom of the tribe and Abi-Maria has her sights set on him.

Challenges[]

Immunity Challenge: Draggin' the Dragon
Each tribe would push a cart through an obstacle course. At each tower, they would retrieve a key. The key would be used to unlock a chest. They would then put the chest on the cart and continue on. Once they have collected all three chests, they must then take the cart apart, slide it through a barricade, put it back together, and make their way to the end. Two tribe members would then use the pieces inside the chest to assemble a giant dragon puzzle. The first two tribes to finish win.
Winners (in order of finish): Ta Keo and Bayon

They got me good. I guess I got blindsided. I feel really disappointed in Tasha and Savage because I trusted them-- obviously, it was misplaced. I wasn't expecting this; I thought I was gonna go a lot further. But you know what? If they wanna throw their it-- their lot in with Abi, like, good luck to them. You know, she's a handful.
