We're Finally Playing Some Survivor is the fifth episode of Survivor: Worlds Apart. This and the previous episode, "Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner" were aired together in a two-hour event.

Story

Night 11

Following Lindsey's vote out, the Blue Collars decided to air out their grievances in an attempt to bring Sierra back into the fold. The discussion that followed, particularly Dan and Rodney's comments, only further alienated Sierra from the rest of the group. Mike tried to do some damage control, emphasizing the importance of them sticking together in case of a swap.

Day 12

Each castaway chose one buff on a tray that contains an equal number of Escameca and Nagarote buffs, all wrapped and covered, which would indicate each castaway's new tribe. Thus, Masaya was being dissolved in the process. The new Escameca featured all of the Blue Collars except Kelly, two White Collars in Tyler and Joaquin, and Joe being the sole No Collar. The new Nagarote featured the three remaining No Collars, three White Collars in Shirin, Max, and Carolyn, and Kelly from Blue Collar. It appeared as if Escameca had the physically stronger tribe, and that would be the case as seen in the following Reward Challenge.  After the challenge, members of both new tribes scrambled for power. On the surface, the two Blue Collar women appeared to be swing votes. On Escameca, Sierra wasted no time connecting with the new members of her tribe, eager to jump ship. On Nagarote, Kelly was still nervous about her position but was approached by both sides. Carolyn was eager to separate herself from Shirin and Max, and Max did himself no favors by putting his foot in the drinking water to heal a foot wart.

Day 13

Mike talked to Dan about the importance of bringing Sierra back into their alliance, saying Dan needed to apologize. Mike also tried to give him advice, but Dan immediately shut Mike down. Dan then attempted to apologize to Sierra, but then resorted back to blaming her for attacking him earlier. Sierra remained firm in her intentions to vote against the Blue Collars should they lose the next Immunity Challenge.

Day 14

The gulf in physical strength between the two tribes was apparent again, and Dan completed his portion of the challenge without a single miss to give Escameca a decisive win. In confessional, Max stated that he was happy his tribe lost because he wanted to play more of the strategic part of Survivor. Back at camp, the duo of Max and Shirin thought they had solidified a plan to take out Will with Carolyn and Kelly. However, Max and Shirin's constant chatter about Survivor and antics put them firmly in the crosshairs of the No Collars. This was particularly the case for Jenn, who also identifies as a super fan but stresses that Max and Shirin's knowledge of Survivor reaches absurdly obscure levels. Before Kelly can make up her mind, Carolyn approaches the No Collar trio and throws Max and Shirin under the bus. Kelly notices this, and decides that despite initially siding with those two White Collars, there was no point if Carolyn wasn't on board. The rest of the camp scene features Max and Shirin talking and strategizing among themselves while the rest of the tribe decides which of the two is more annoying.

At Tribal Council, Shirin and Max once again demonstrate their love for Survivor. Shirin points out Jeff Probst making a facial expression during her answer (which Probst was oblivious too as he was just glancing normally) and Max compares this season's tribe swap to that of One World, while also stating that he can more easily remember Survivor trivia than his mom's phone number. After both Will and Shirin tell Probst they think tonight will be a blindside, the voting process begins. Before the votes are read, Max reaches for his bag and says "Hold Up Bro" only to reveal he was feigning an idol play. Shirin is blindsided to see that a 5-2 vote sends her only ally Max out of the game.

Challenges

Challenge: Beach Balls
Players from each tribe will launch balls out onto the beach, where their tribe mates will attempt to catch them. If you catch a ball, then you score a point. The first tribe to catch five balls wins a reward.
Reward: Cooking supplies, sausages and rewards won by Masaya in past challenges.
Winner: Escameca

Challenge: Swing Break
Two members from each tribe will place pots on a sled and drag it through a series of obstacles. Once they reach the finish, they will place the pots on stands and head back. Once all six pots are in place, one tribe member will use a wrecking ball to smash the pots. The first tribe to finish wins Immunity.
Winner: Escameca

Final Words

Max
Pre-merge boot (deep sigh)… that's a little uncomfy. I think the fourteen days I spent out here only deepen my love and appreciation for this game. Most of all, deepen my appreciation for how difficult it is to play it. I'm truly humbled. I'm awed. And I'm thrilled that I got to live out my dream of playing Survivor.
