Uncomfortably Numb is a recurring endurance challenge in Survivor. The challenge debuted in Survivor: San Juan del Sur and has since re-appeared in Survivor: Kaôh Rōng and Survivor: David vs. Goliath.
Rules
Each person will balance their feet on a very narrow perch while holding a handle above their head. If at any point, they let go of the handle or a foot comes off the perch, they are out of the challenge. The last person left standing wins immunity.
History
The challenge debuted as the final nine Immunity Challenge in Survivor: San Juan del Sur. In addition to staying on the perch, Jeff Probst would also tempt castaways to forfeit the challenge in exchange for food. While many of the castaways succumbed to food temptations, Reed outlasted Natalie after three hours to earn immunity.
The challenge re-appeared in Survivor: Kaôh Rōng as the final ten Immunity Challenge. This time, the contestants had less space therefore making it harder for them and making them more numb. After five minutes, Jeff offered the contestants food. This would be the only time he would offer food during the challenge, which caused many castaways to drop out. Eventually the challenge came down to Tai and Cydney. After over 40 minutes Cydney dropped out, giving Tai immunity.
