Tribal Lines Are Blurred is the tenth episode of Survivor: David vs. Goliath.
Story[]
Night 25[]
Day 26[]
With the knowledge that the Hidden Immunity Idol played by Dan Rengering at the previous Tribal Council would be re-hidden, Davie Rickenbacker and Nick Wilson set off early in the morning in search of the idol. They ended up finding a clue to the idol, which directed them to search for a flame later that day in the middle of the night.
At the Reward Challenge, the castaways had to compete in Back in Slack. Although the purple team consisting of Angelina Keeley, Carl Boudreaux, Davie Rickenbacker, Kara Kay, and Nick Wilson were in the lead for most of the challenge due in part to the orange team's struggle on the rope bridge, the orange team ended up taking over at the pole-throwing section. Alec Merlino skillfully threw the poles, thus earning the win for his team consisting of himself, Alison Raybould, Christian Hubicki, Gabby Pascuzzi, and Mike White.
During the orange team's reward feast, Alec attempted to extend an olive branch to Christian and Gabby using his bartender hospitality. Later in the feast, Alec uncovered a box containing letters from the loved ones of the orange team. Each member went off individually to read their letters.
While the orange team enjoyed their feast, the members of the purple team convened to scheme. Carl hatched a plan to eliminate Alec, but Kara, Alec's primary ally, was alerted and concerned. Angelina was receptive to this plan as she no longer wanted to align with her former Goliath tribemates after they had turned against her at the previous Tribal Council.
After the reward, the orange team returned. Kara informed Alec of Carl's plan, thus galvanizing Alec for the next Immunity Challenge. The members of the orange team had returned with upset stomachs and threw up along the beach. Debilitated, Alec was concerned regarding his prospects for the following challenge. Later that night, Nick sneaked off to find the idol as Davie kept watch. However, time was growing thin as Alison woke up to vomit, having not recovered from her upset stomach. Nonetheless, Nick managed to find the flame and thus the idol before hurrying back. Both Davie and Nick rejoiced at the discovery.
Day 27[]
Day 28[]
After the Immunity Challenge, Alec was the primary target. Carl told Kara that Alec was the target, much to the ire of Gabby. Christian and Gabby, along with Alison and Alec, discuss getting out Carl. Alison and Alec ask Kara and Mike if they would be on board with getting out Carl, which they are. Christian explained that getting rid of Alec would make him the only threat.
Day 29[]
Day 30[]
Challenges[]
Challenge: Back in Slack
Divided into two teams of five, castaways will race out to a rope bridge, using five hanging ropes for support. Once everyone is across the bridge, they must toss a set of poles onto a rung. The first team to get all three of their poles on the rung wins.
Reward: Survivor picnic with wraps and wine; letters from home
Winner: Orange Team (Alec Merlino, Alison Raybould, Christian Hubicki, Gabby Pascuzzi, Mike White)
Challenge: Uncomfortably Numb
Each castaway must balance their feet on a very narrow perch while holding a handle above their head. If at any point, they let go of the handle or a foot comes off the perch, they are out of the challenge. The last person left standing wins immunity.
Additional Stipulation: Castaways could sit out to feast on nachos and margaritas.
Winner: Christian Hubicki
Challenge: Beastie Buoys
Divided into two teams of four, the castaways must swim out to a platform. They will then need to climb the ladder and dive. Once everyone is in the water, they will need to release two lines of buoys. They must then find the five marked buoys, which they will then have to get into one of five nets. The first team to get all of their buoys in wins.
Reward: An afternoon cruise and a feast.
Winner: Orange Team (Carl Boudreaux, Davie Rickenbacker, Kara Kay, Mike White)
Challenge: Word Forward
Castaways will race over an A-frame while collecting a string of blocks. They will then spin a pole to get another string and then cross a balance beam, retrieving another string in the process. They will then need to use the blocks to spell the word "PERSPECTIVE". The first person to get the correct word wins immunity.
Additional Stipulation: If at least one person forfeits the challenge, Kalokalo would receive a bag of rice.
Winner: Davie Rickenbacker

Final Words[]
Alec's final words were not aired in the episode, but can be found online.[2]
Alec |
“ | It sucks to get voted out, but being on Survivor is like when you see a really good wave as a surfer, and you're like, "Oh my God, here comes a set wave". And then you're paddling for it, and then you're about to take off, and then a perfect five-foot barrel glassy deep in the pocket, that's what this is, bro. Survivor is just the sickest ride of your life. [throws the shaka gesture] Yehahew. | ” |

“ | (voting against Alison) Alright girl, I love you, but this is kind of a "I gotta get you before you get me" vote. | ” |
Gabby |
“ | (voting against Carl) You're the Godfather no more. | ” |
Final Words[]
Carl |
“ | I'm confused, I never seen that one coming. I mean, we had a plan in place, but I put my guard down and they switched the plan, and I'm the one who's going home. You know, it's no different like when driving my truck, you know? I mean, I was kinda on cruise control, moving a little fast, but in this game, you just can't do that. So, it was a great move on their part, and they got the better of me. | ” |
