Thoriso M-Afrika is a contestant from Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island and Survivor South Africa: Return of the Outcasts.
In Immunity Island, Thoriso was immediately identified as one of the weaker members of Zamba, but was saved after becoming the first person sent to the eponymous Immunity Island. After being switched onto Vuna, Thoriso bonded with the former Vuna members and managed to collaborate with Tyson Zulu to bluff the Zambas into believing she had a Hidden Immunity Idol. Unfortunately, she overplayed her hand and threw Tyson under the bus; with bridges to both the Vuna and Zamba factions burned, Thoriso was eliminated at the Double Tribal Council.
Returning for a second chance in Return of the Outcasts, Thoriso played a more mellow game before becoming part of a big move by partaking in Tevin Naidu's blindside. However, her standing in the game quickly deteriorated after the tribe switch where, despite being a part of the Yontau majority on the new Masu tribe, she failed to rein in Killarney Jones, causing her to defect, blindside Pinty Nkanjeni, and give the Masus the numbers. Despite being offered salvation in the form of a split vote, Thoriso decided not to betray her Felix Godlo. Her fate sealed, she was voted out by the Masus on the revote.

PE-born marketing officer Thoriso M-Afrika (36) describes herself as 'the eternal optimist, fiercely loyal and a colourful character who lives in my own world'. "I'll stand out as an anomaly on the show because I wouldn't be caught dead camping, am a creature of comfort and would probably die if I ever did something like this alone," she says.

Marketing manager Thoriso M-Afrika is a single mother. Her son's name is Bulumko, meaning wisdom in isiXhosa, a reflection of the high regard in which she holds education and the application of intellect.
As much as she's a huge Survivor fan, her main aim for entering the game is to win the Sole Survivor's prize money, to improve her financial situation. Last time around, she felt she had the moves but not the social currency, playing herself out of the game. Now, she's looking to play a more social game – even if it means pretending to like people. She says that meeting people who were smarter than she was a huge blow to her ego, which led to plenty of introspection – the lessons from which she's bringing back to the game at her second attempt.[1]Survivor South Africa[]
