Trivia[]
- This episode marks the only time the Fire Making Challenge is used twice in one season.
- The Day 37 tribal council is the only time this season that Tom does not vote for the person voted out.
- This episode marks the last time a re-vote was used at a final four Tribal Council tie, since final four ties in later seasons have gone straight to the fire-making challenge without a re-vote.
- The name of the Final Immunity Challenge, "Bob-Bob Buoy", is a reference to "Bababooey" from the Howard Stern Show, of which Jeff Probst was a fan.
- The Final Immunity Challenge currently holds the record for longest endurance challenge held in the history of the series, at 11 hours 55 minutes.
- Years later, Jeff Probst revealed that when the challenge continued at night, they tried to bring fire as lights, but the smoke distracted Tom, so they brought spotlights to continue shooting.[3]
- This is the first time a vote was held outside Tribal Council, since it was too late at night to hold the actual visit to Tribal Council.
- With the impromptu Tribal Council, all jury members were absent.
- This episode reveals that Tribal Council is always held at sundown.
