The Finish Line Is in Sight is the tenth episode of Survivor: Ghost Island.
Story[]
Night 27[]
After the Lavita tribe returns from Tribal Council, Domenick Abbate thanks Laurel Johnson for warning him about Desiree Afuye's plans. Meanwhile, Kellyn Bechtold still wants to stay Naviti strong.
Day 28[]
Domenick and Wendell Holland agree with sticking with Laurel and Donathan Hurley, though Domenick contemplates on turning on Wendell at some point. Domenick goes out to look for a Hidden Immunity Idol and manages to find David Wright's fake idol from Millennials vs. Gen X, but learns that the idol is still a fake one, and that he must convince another player to use it in order for its power to be activated in Domenick's favor.
Day 29[]
After arriving at the Immunity Challenge, host Jeff Probst announces that two people will win immunity, and two people will be voted out at Tribal Council that night in a Split Tribal Council. The players are separated into two teams of five via random draw: the orange team features Domenick, Laurel, Kellyn, Wendell, and Michael Yerger, while the purple tribe features Donathan, Angela Perkins, Chelsea Townsend, Jenna Bowman, and Sebastian Noel.
The challenge is an endurance challenge that requires castaways to hold up a bar which keeps a ball in a basket above their head. If they relieve too much pressure, the ball will drop and they are out. The last person left standing from each team will win immunity, and one person from each team will be voted out. The single player that lasts the longest between both teams will earn their team the right to go to Tribal Council second. Chelsea manages to outlast Angela to win immunity on the purple team, while Domenick defeats Wendell to win immunity on the orange team. As Domenick lasted the longest, the orange team will attend Tribal Council second, knowing who the purple team will vote out in the first Tribal Council.
Back at camp, the orange team agrees to send Michael out. Michael asks Donathan if he would be willing to lend Michael his idol so that he can flash it to players on his team to scare them away from voting for him. After Donathan refuses to do so, reasoning that he would be playing it for himself, Michael then lies to Kellyn about having an idol, which scares her. Domenick, however, assures Kellyn that Michael does not have an idol. Kellyn tells Wendell that she is scared and asks him if he is willing to sacrifice Laurel in order to save one of the original Naviti from being voted out in case Michael has an idol. Wendell goes to Laurel and says that if Michael does have an idol, they might need to vote for Kellyn instead.
On the purple team, Angela, Chelsea, and Sebastian know that they have the majority and decide to target Jenna. However, they come up with a ruse to reassure Jenna and tell her that they are voting Donathan out. Wanting to protect herself by convincing Donathan to not use his idol, Jenna tells Donathan that Sebastian told her that they are voting Jenna out. Wanting to protect her, Donathan tells Jenna that he will use his idol on her and asks her to vote Sebastian at Tribal Council so that they can send him home with the idol.
At the first Tribal Council, Donathan plays his idol for himself, but it negates only Jenna's vote against him as she is voted out 3-1-0, and becomes the fourth member of the jury.
During the second half of the Double Elimination, Kellyn votes for Laurel, and uses her Extra Vote advantage to place another vote on her, which results in a 2-2 tie between Laurel and Michael, with Kellyn and Wendell receiving the other two votes. In the ensuing revote, Domenick, Kellyn, and Wendell all vote for Michael, thus making him the fifth member of the jury.
Challenges[]
Immunity Challenge: Crocodile Rock
Divided into two teams of five, castaways must pull up on a bar, with which they must try to keep a ball wedged between a set of jaws. If they release the bar, the lower jaw will fall, causing their ball to fall out. Once their ball falls, they are out. The last person remaining from each team wins.
Additional Stipulation: The last person left standing allows their team to view the results of first team's Tribal Council and vote second.
Winners: Chelsea Townsend (Purple Team) and Domenick Abbate (Orange Team)
Tribal Council[]
Purple Team[]
Voting Confessionals[]
Jenna is shown writing Donathan's name down.
Final Words[]
Jenna's final words were not aired, but were made available online on the Survivor YouTube channel.[2]
Jenna |
“ | I got blindsided. It felt like I trusted people too much today and I failed to see, you know, what was actually happening. I like to think that I kind of overcame by biggest fear to be more vulnerable and open to people. I've learned to kind of do new things and tackle them more with, like, a positive attitude, so the fact I made it this far, you know, I'm really proud of that. | ” |
Orange Team[]
Voting Confessionals[]
Laurel is shown writing Kellyn's name down.
Final Words[]
Michael |
“ | Even though I came up short, I can look back and really be proud of the game I played. I am the youngest guy out here and little did they know they fooled each time by an 18 year old. At 18 years old, I feel like my life is just beginning. I've watched this show for so long, and to have an experience like this is priceless. | ” |

Behind the Scenes[]
Other[]
- This episode marks the first use of the Double Elimination twist since "Running the Show".
- Because that episode was during a Redemption Island season, this marks the first permanent Double Elimination since "People That You Like Want to See You Suffer", and the first permanent Double Elimination to take place post-merge.
- This is the first Double Elimination to involve the merged tribe splitting into two temporary teams.
- This is also the first time the 'victims' of the Double Elimination were not of the same gender.
- This is the first time multiple Immunity Necklaces were available at a post-merge Immunity Challenge without the stipulation of one person of each gender winning immunity.
- This is the second time the merged tribe was split into two separate teams competing for immunity, the first being in "Are We Gonna Live on Exile Island?!" in Survivor: Fiji.
- Unlike in Fiji, the castaways all competed for individual immunity and not tribal immunity.
- Domenick Abbate is the first male in Ghost Island, and the first male since Cole Medders in Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, to win individual immunity.
- Angela Perkins is the only eligible castaway this episode to not have a vote cast against her.
- After this episode, Laurel Johnson is the last female left from Malolo.
- The name of the Immunity Challenge, Crocodile Rock, references the Elton John song of the same name.
Episode Title[]
- The episode title was said by Domenick Abbate, referring to the fact that there were only 11 days left in the game.
