Tribe History[]
When the tribes were formed and given a map to help find their camp, Xavier Lemasson took the directional lead for the Tambor tribe. On their way, many tribe members took turns holding their compass but had trouble reading it. As a result, Xavier and Jacky Moreau disagreed over the direction they were going. Jacky went on to irritate the tribe with his bossiness. Tambor ultimately lost the first Immunity Challenge against Ventanas. At Tribal Council, Jacky and Béatrice Cloix Penisson voted against Amel Fatnassi for her challenge weakness, while the rest of the tribe voted against Jacky, eliminating him from the game.
After she was left out of the vote, Béatrice toned down her commandeering attitude so that the heat wouldn't be on her. Before the first Reward Challenge, Xavier slipped on a slope along a waterfall and fell face first. The doctor called for Xavier to be evacuated due to head trauma. After a neurosurgeon declared that Xavier had suffered a cervical sprain, he was pulled from the game, allowing Jacky to return to the game in his place. Tambor lost the Reward Challenge, but they recovered to win the next two Immunity Challenges.
On Day 11, the tribe noticed the rough conditions of the environment had begun to take its toll on Nelly when she didn't eat fish with them. When Tambor lost the corresponding Immunity Challenge a couple of days later, Nelly and Béatrice voted against Pierre Cambon because they felt he contributed the least to camp life. However, even though it seemed that the majority of the tribe would vote out Béatrice after Amel called her out for underestimating her performance in the Immunity Challenge, Nelly was eliminated instead for her recent demeanor.
On Day 14, Tambor sent Jacky to what they thought would be a Hero Challenge for reward, but it turned out to be a tribe switch. As a result, Jacky was reassigned to the Ventanas tribe, and their representative, Bernard Lenoir, was reassigned to the Tambor tribe. As a positive for everyone, both tribes were given fishing equipment, presented to them by their new tribe members as a welcoming gift. Bernard integrated himself into the tribe by discussing aesthetic affairs with their women. Pierre told the women that Bernard was trying to use charm to his advantage and was succeeding, but they assured him that this wasn't happening.
Tambor lost the next Immunity Challenge and, to be sure that Bernard would be eliminated, Pierre approached Amel and Maud Garnier about allying with them. However, this backfired as Amel and Maud felt that Pierre was making too many alliances and wasn't trustworthy. Therefore, Pierre was voted out in a 4-2 at the corresponding elimination.
Tambor lost the following two Reward Challenges but won the next two Immunity Challenges. On Day 24, the two tribes merged and moved to the old Ventanas camp.
