Survivor Wiki
Survivor Wiki

On Survivor Wiki, user blog posts have a huge variety of purposes, including news, announcements, community discussion and discussion of Survivor-related concepts. However, the wiki does have policies that apply to this feature.

General Use

Usage of Blog Posts

  • Only relevant blog posts: Blog posts must be related to the Survivor television program, its international counterparts, contestants, episodes, strategies, or the Survivor Wiki. Introducing yourself as a new user through your blog is not allowed, though you may do so in your first "substantial" blog post if you so desire. Blog posts that are deemed irrelevant are subject to deletion at the discretion of an admin or other staff. If you think your blog post is deleted but does not deserve deletion, kindly message an admin.
  • Only substantial blog posts: Blog posts are meant to provide a means for users to present thoughtful opinions and pieces of writing. Their intention is not to act only as a conversation starter. Thus, blog posts should present some substantial content and should, at the very least, be one, full paragraph (and not one sentence). Blog posts that do not appear to be substantial enough should be reported, and may be summarily deleted at the discretion of an administrator. If your blog post is deleted and you do not agree that it is insubstantial, kindly message an admin.
  • Not a place for proposal blog posts: The forum is intended to be the centralized discussion forum for all site-related issues and improvements, and should be used for all proposals. Creating a blog post for these purposes is confusing and breaks the continuity of site-related discussion history.
  • Avoid posts about vandalism: Trying to inform as much of Survivor Wiki as possible about current levels of vandalism or "imminent danger" of vandalism is unhelpful. Vandalism is done because of the reaction to it, and thus dramatization only further encourages it.
  • Not a place to advertise Online Reality Games: The blog space, as is the whole wiki, is not a place to post blog posts about your Online Reality Game (ORG) casting. Only iSurv1vor, Survivor Wiki's partner ORG, may do so.

Good Faith

The Survivor Wiki assumes that users makes posts out of good faith. Any blog post with inappropriate content would be deleted. A wiki ban could be enforced depending on the gravity of the offense. By definition, posts made in "bad faith" are inappropriate, malicious or any allusions to them.

News Blog Posts

Any blog post with substantial information regarding twists, announcements or any interesting information regarding the series is encouraged. However, bloggers are expected to cite their source enclosing the source link with the <ref></ref> tag.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between "news" and "spoilers." To be classified as a news blog post, you must use a credible source, such as CBS, its social media accounts (Twitter , YouTube, Facebook) and Entertainment Weekly. Reality Blurred should be used sparingly. Inside Survivor and websites and/or articles that cite it are not considered reliable sources due to the sources of the website never being properly disclosed. Spoilers, defined as deliberate disclosure of plot details, such as orders of elimination, especially the winner of the season, which threaten to deter the integrity of the show. Let it be known that the Survivor Wiki is not a spoilers site, and any form of spoilers will be deleted without further notice. See our Spoiler Policy for more information.
