This is the fourth episode of Survivor U.K. (2023).

Story

Day 8

La Nena's food supply they won in the first challenge began to dwindle, and the tribe's morale also began to take a dip. Ashleigh worried as she was nearly voted out at the previous Tribal Council.

	Ashleigh	“	After Tribal Council, I've woken up feeling nervous because I know that my name was up for the second time. I think because the boys' club are really working together now to protect each other, the boys outnumber the girls and Ren, and that's a really risky position for us to be in.	”

	Christopher	“	I get on with the boys really well. Me and the other guys are a good, tight alliance. But I also get on with the girls and Ren, so I'm quite happy to coast along and see where I can go. And that, to me, is a smart game player.	”

Meanwhile on Caletón, the tribe was unsatisfied with their shelter, as it provided little protection from the rain and was fairly uncomfortable. Shai was displaying a negative and distant attitude which alienated him from the rest of the tribe.

	Tinuke	“	Shai, I don't think he's a very smiley person by nature. I think he's quite serious an he's not a very good team player, and he's not got great social skills. I think he's a bit disjointed from the group.	”

Doug and Pegleg search for a hidden immunity idol.

Following Joel revealing their existance, Doug and Pegleg searched for a hidden immunity idol, to ensure none of the women got it. Since Ren shared their clue with Doug, he knew where to look, and spots the idol hidden inside a tree trunk, and discreetly retrieves the idol without Pegleg seeing. The idol is valid for the next three Tribal Councils only. Doug tells Ren about the idol and shows it to them.

	Doug	“	I have an idea where an idol is hidden. Because Ren shaired their clue with me about where one might be. I will not be sharing this with Pegleg. I want to get to that before he does.	”

	Ren	“	It feels really exciting knowing that Doug found the idol. I would have been happier had I found it but this immunity idol is a huge shield for both of us. It needs to stay 100% secret between Doug and myself.	”

Day 9

Laurence tells Tinuke about the existance of a hidden immunity idol.

At Caletón, Laurence shared information about the Outpost with Tinuke, telling her that he had the option to take an idol clue and revealing her the existence of idols in the game. Leilani worried about her spot in the tribe as she was genuinely being viewed as the weakest link to due to her age and gender. Her tribemates respected her, hoping that they wouldn't lose and therefore didn't have to vote her out, despite it being made clear that she was next on the chopping block.

Meanwhile on La Nena, Hannah became slightly cautious about her place in the tribe, as women were being voted out due to challenge ability on the tribe. The non-men of La Nena offered to look out for each other.

	Hannah	“	I know I'm very tight with the boys at the moment, we're getting on really well. But with Sabrina and Rach gone, I'm getting slightly worried. I don't think It's intentional but I need to just have my own back just to make sure there is some sort of safety in numbers in case we go to Tribal again.	”

The reward challenge, Trench Run.

At the Reward Challenge, the tribes competed head to head, ringing bells on opposing sides of a moat. Ashleigh, who almost went home at the last Tribal Council for weakness, was the only member of La Nena to win a point. Caletón won the challenge, their first reward win, and enjoyed a massive barbecue feast on a different beach.

	Ashleigh	“	The fact that I won, and people like Lee, who put themselves up as being strong and being contenders, didn't, I think it might show the boys' club that they may be overestimating their abilities a little bit.	”

Day 10

La Nena were miserable after a third consecutive challenge loss, vowing to win the immunity challenge. Before the challenge, The Caletón members discussed the potential next vote, with Tinuke and Rachel feeling that while Leilani could be a challenge liability, Shai made them nervous over his lack of ability to fit in with the tribe.

	Shai	“	My social game is my biggest worry. I'm in a very extroverted tribe and I am a bit nervous with the fact that I'm a bit introverted compared to everyone else here. It takes a while to warm up to people and I'm pretty closed off as a person. I definitely know that it could be perceived as a negative aspect.	”

The immunity challenge, Discy Business.

At a balance based immunity challenge, Caletón was unable to keep their winning streak, meaning they'd have to attend Tribal Council. Shai and Leilani were on the chopping block. Leilani's success in the last immunity challenge which focused on balance redeemed her value in the eyes of some of her tribemates who have seen her struggle in physical challenges. Meanwhile, Shai's introversion and poor social game seemed to turn people off, despite the fact that he might be a physical asset.

	Leilani	“	I have said from day 1 that I have things to offer the tribe. I am an incredibly strong, powerful woman. I am not weak, I have different abilities.	”

	Shai	“	She did give a lovely speech, but we've had six challenges so far and I think Leilani being effective in one is not a particularly good ratio compared to the rest of the tribe.	”

	Rachel	“	I understand why people don't get on with Shai. He doesn't really know how to word things when he is speaking to people, but to get further into this game we need a strong tribe.	”

Caletón at Tribal Council.

At Tribal Council, Joel revealed a twist, telling Caletón that instead of voting someone out of the game, they would vote to send someone to La Nena. Before reading the votes, Joel also asked if anyone wanted to play a hidden immunity idol, effectively revealing their existence to the Caletón tribe.

Leilani is sent to La Nena in a mock vote.

Despite her success in the last challenge, Leilani's overall challenge performance made her less of an asset than Shai, prompting Caletón to vote her out and send her to La Nena in a 7-1 vote. Before she left, Joel told her to throw her Caletón buff in the fire and gave her a new La Nena buff. Leilani was then instructed to walk to La Nena alone in the night.

Challenge: Trench Run
In one-on-one face offs, castaways will run through a trench to attempt to ring a bell on the opposite side, while their opponent attempts to stop them. The first person to ring their bell earns a point for their tribe. The first tribe to score four points wins.
Reward: A barbecue feast
Winner: Caletón

Challenge: Discy Business
Standing on an individual balance beam, tribe members will pull on rope to keep a disc suspended mid-air. One member at a time will walk out to stack blocks spelling "IMMUNITY" on the disc, while pulling on the rope. If anybody falls off their balance beam or the stack falls, the triibe must start over. The first tribe to finish their stack wins.
