This is the second episode of Survivor U.K. (2023).
Story[]
Day 4[]
Unable to cook any food without fire, Caletón were low on morale. Tinuke felt guilty about voting Richard out at the previous Tribal Council, and regretted the decision to keep Shai. Shai began panicking due to his name coming up at Tribal Council, as Jess had voted for him, but tried to remain calm to keep his name off the chopping block. Nathan and Tinuke discussed their potential to move forward in the game and formed an alliance.
Nathan |
“ | The relationship I have with Tinuke will benefit my gameplay, but we are trying to not make it too obvious to the rest of the tribe how close our bond is, because that could quite easily be seen as a threat. | ” |
Caletón successfully managed to make a fire, and celebrated by cooking their first meal.
Over on La Nena, spirits were high following winning the first two challenges and not having to attend Tribal Council. Ashleigh worried about the condition of her hand, as it had sustained an injury in the first immunity challenge, and how it could affect her place in the tribe. When tree mail arrives, La Nena were feeling giddy about the upcoming reward challenge. Doug pledged to take on Caletón's biggest guy, Nathan.
Ashleigh |
“ | Everyone's over the moon that we won yet another challenge, but I am really worried about my hand at this point because I injured it in the very first immunity challenge. It could very easily turn into an excuse for me to go home. | ” |
At the challenge, Doug did take on Nathan, which won La Nena the reward of fishing gear. La Nena celebrated the fishing gear, which Doug already knew how to use, so he taught some of the other members of the tribe how to use it. While the mood at camp seemed chirpy, there was tensions starting to bubble. Hannah and Christopher strategized about who the tribe's first boot could potentially be, with Hannah singling out Ashleigh due to her injury.
Hannah |
“ | I like Christopher, he's a sweet guy, but if you're not building friendships then you're not playing this game right, in my opinion. | ” |
Ashleigh |
“ | I know that it's really important, especially at this early stage, to be part of the team that's, like, really pushing forward and helping to win those challenges. So not being able to participate in that puts me, ypu know, in not such a great position. | ” |
Christopher told Ashleigh about what Hannah said due to feeling closer to her, with Doug and Ren present. The four made an alliance, the first one of the season.
Day 5[]
On Caletón, tribe hygiene became an issue, with the camp beginning to smell bad, the clothes were boiled by Tinuke. Caletón hoped for an immunity challenge which involved teamwork to potentially break their losing streak.
Leilani |
“ | I think we can break our losing streak by doing a team challenge. I don't think we like head to head, it's too much pressure. | ” |
Sabrina |
“ | Ash, she's panicking, she's starting to scramble a little bit. It feels to me when you have an injured member of the tribe that if we were to go to tribal soon, she would be the obvious choice. | ” |
On La Nena, another four-person alliance had formed, this one containing Doug, Lee, Sabrina, and Pegleg. They pondered voting out Ashleigh due to her injury. Rach worried about something which got in her eye, which put a target on her back as it annoyed several of her tribe members. Sabrina's constant motivational speeches and loud personality annoyed Rach.
Lee |
“ | Sabrina told me to vote Ashleigh, and if she's injured, that's a big problem. But my mind stays the same. I'm focused on performance, and the person who gives the worst performance is on the chopping block. | ” |
The tribes convene for the immunity challenge, and after a bit of smack talk from La Nena, Joel explained the mechanics of the challenge and it went underway. While La Nena took the early lead, their lack of synchronisation allowed Caletón to catch up. Caletón overtook La Nena as Rach and Sabrina struggled with their portion of the challenge while Caletón's members all kept a quick pace, even finishing and paddling back to shore in less time than Rach and Sabrina's part. While La Nena eventually paddled back and managed to make up some ground, Caletón handily won the challenge after Laurence managed to stack the last bit of bamboo.
At La Nena, Sabrina tried to push the target onto Rach by apologizing for the challenge loss on behalf of her to the tribe. In retalliation, Rach proposed to her alliance members to vote Sabrina out on the grounds of claiming she is selfish and annoying. They all agreed and seemed on board, but Doug expressed doubt over the decision, as Sabrina was a strong woman and that she may hold a grudge if she survived the vote.
Ashleigh |
“ | The biggest factor for me in tonight's vote is, who am I aligned with? Who can help protect me, given that I've got this injury that is putting me at risk. | ” |
Doug |
“ | I'm actually far from 100% on Sabrina to be honest. You know, it's still up in the air at the moment. | ” |
Doug found himself in the middle of the two alliances, as he then went to Sabrina's alliance to discuss the vote. He told Sabrina that she was the target of the four from Rach's side, but he also lied by saying he was not involved in the discussion. Sabrina's alliance settled on voting out Ashleigh over Rach due to her being more strategic.
Doug |
“ | It's not going to be easy, it's not going to be pretty. I think there's going to be some fireworks tonight, that's for sure. | ” |
At Tribal Council, Joel asked La Nena about alliances, with Doug answered that conversations between individuals had happened all day about targets. When asked, Sabrina believed that the best way to play the game was with honesty, integrity and trusting the right people. She also believed that those who performed poorly in challenges should be voted out. Ashleigh explained her injury to Joel, and that she was now unable to get her hand wet. Lee and Rach got into an argument after he blamed her for struggling in the immunity challenge, despite Rach having no desire to be in that position in it, and Sabrina also struggling in it. Lee then emphasized that Rach was more guilty than Sabrina because Sabrina gave it her all before giving up.
The tribe went to cast their votes and in the end, Doug sided with Ashleigh, Christopher, Rach and Ren. Sabrina was eliminated in a 5-2-2 vote, with Ashleigh and Rach each receiving two votes from Sabrina's alliance.
