Survivor South Africa: Philippines is the sixth season of the South African version of Survivor

Production

The season was filmed in January/February 2018 in the Palawan Province of the Republic of the Philippines.

Twists/Changes

  • 39 Days: The game will be longer than the previous season's 27 days.
  • Hidden Immunity Idol: Hidden Immunity Idols were hidden around the camps and contestants were given or find clues to help locate the Immunity Idols.
  • Tribe Expansion: On Day 9, a third tribe, Visayas, was introduced, spreading the fifteen remaining castaways across three tribes of five.
  • Double Tribal Council: The two losing tribes at the Day 12 Immunity Challenge will both attend Tribal Council.
  • Tribe Switch: At the Double Tribal Council, each tribe was told to vote without knowing that the person with the most votes would be sent to the other tribe attending the session. The person sent over also gets to pick one member of their original tribe to join them on their new tribe.
  • Exile Island: On Day 30, the winner of the combined Reward/Immunity Challenge had to choose two people to be exiled.
  • Extra Vote: An Extra Vote advantage was offered to the players that were sent to Exile Island on Day 30. The advantage was good until the final five.
  • Juror Removal: The winner of the Final Immunity Challenge also has the reward to eliminate a juror of their choice.
