This is the first season of the Philippine version of Survivor.
J.C. Tiuseco defeated Rob Sy in a 7-2 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.
Production[]
The inaugural season was set in Ko Tarutao, Thailand, the same place where the fifth American season, Survivor: Thailand, was filmed. The Tribal Council set was built on the same pier where the American version's was constructed.
Though the season was advertised to have only 16 castaways, it was later expanded to 18. The castaways were initially divided into two tribes sorted by gender, Jarakay and Naak, Thai words for crocodile and snake respectively, though no Buffs were handed. In a twist, the Buffs were given out at the first Immunity Challenge, where a surprise Tribe Switch occurred, into tribes pre-selected by production.
Twists/Changes[]
- Men vs. Women/Tribe Switch: The castaways were initially divided into tribes based on gender, with the men assigned to Jarakay, and the women to Naak with no Buffs given to the castaways for the first two days. However, when Buffs were given to the castaways before the first Immunity Challenge, the survivors were assigned to their pre-determined tribe affiliations.
- Double Elimination: After voting one of their own out following their loss at the Day 9 Immunity Challenge, Jarakay was asked to eliminate a second member.
- Kidnapping: The tribe who won the Day 10 Reward Challenge were given the advantage of kidnapping a member from the losing tribe in which the kidnapped castaway stayed in their camp for a day. If the kidnapped player's tribe lost the following Immunity Challenge, the abducted player will share tribal immunity with the winning tribe and return to their tribe after Tribal Council.
- Pearls: During the merge stage, before a castaway left the game after being voted out, they assigned either the Black and/or White Pearl to any of the remaining castaways, each with a different use. The effects of both pearls can be nullified if the recipient won the next Immunity Challenge.
- Black Pearl: Its recipient received an additional vote at the next Tribal Council; two votes if the recipient failed to bring the pearl at Tribal Council.
- White Pearl: Its recipient was allowed to remove one vote against them at the next Tribal Council.
- Audience Jury Vote: A public vote was held during the broadcast of the Final Tribal Council. Whichever from the Final Two had the higher percentage of the public vote received another vote to win.

Season Summary[]
The 18 castaways were initially divided into tribes based on gender: the all-male Jarakay and the all-female Naak. However, they did not receive their Buffs until the first Immunity Challenge. When the Buffs were distributed on Day 3, five women were moved to Jarakay, and five men were moved to Naak. Despite Jarakay's discomfort with Marlon's aggressive politicking, the tribe came together as a unified front in the challenges, dominating Naak in six out of the first seven challenges. Under Kiko's leadership, Naak managed to level the playing field by winning a crucial Immunity Challenge which forced Jarakay to vote out two members in a single Tribal Council and see one member voluntarily quit the game due to injury. On Day 15, John, one of Jarakay's strongest members, fell ill, shifting the momentum in Naak's favor. Naak went on to win the remaining challenges, entering the merge with a 6-4 advantage over Jarakay.
The tribes merged into the Chalam tribe on Day 19, where Naak's majority held strong, voting out Jace, Jarakay's strongest competitor. With nine castaways remaining, a new mechanic, the "Black Pearl," was introduced, giving the person voted out the power to cast a vote for one of the remaining castaways before leaving the game for good. Despite Jarakay's seemingly inevitable extinction, Marlon saw Rob's poor work ethic and Kiko's leadership in Naak as opportunities to convince Cris and Kaye to blindside Kiko in a 5-4 vote. The remaining Naak members argued over the betrayal but eventually regrouped to eliminate the remaining Jarakay members, Veronica and Marlon, leaving Charisse as the last Jarakay left.
Despite Charisse's precarious position, J.C. and Rob recruited her to help turn against the Naak alliance, starting with Kaye, who gave the Black Pearl to Cris on her way out. Immediately after Tribal Council, Cris deliberately lost the Black Pearl, resulting in two penalty votes, which were nullified when he won the next Immunity Challenge. An emotional Zita was voted out next for being a social threat as Naak's mother figure.
On Day 37, the final four participated in a Reward or Immunity Challenge. The winner, J.C., was given a choice between keeping his immunity or forfeiting it in exchange for a new car. J.C. chose to surrender his immunity to Rob, solidifying their alliance. Despite growing frustrated with Rob's ego and considering Cris' offer to turn on Rob, Charisse sided with J.C. and Rob, voting Cris out 3-1. Rob then won the Final Immunity Challenge and honored his Final Two deal with J.C. by taking him to the Final Tribal Council, voting Charisse out 1-0.
At the Final Tribal Council, Rob and J.C. faced a generally hostile Jury. Rob was criticized for his perceived lack of work ethic and his tendency to not take challenges seriously, while J.C. was accused of hiding behind his congeniality. After collecting the Urn containing the Jury's votes, host Paolo Bediones announced that the audience would serve as the ninth Jury member, casting the deciding vote in the event of a 4-4 tie before leaving the Tribal Council set.
Months later, J.C.'s strategic and social gameplay won him seven out of nine jury votes, including the fan vote, earning the distinction as the first Pinoy Sole Survivor.

Notes: ^1 Niña quit the due to a fractured toe. No vote occurred during her removal.
^2 As part of their victory at the Immunity Challenge, Jarakay abducted one member of Naak. The chosen castaway, Kiko, was also given immunity and did not attend Tribal Council. ^3 Cris did not bring the Cursed Pearl to Tribal Council, so he received two votes instead of one. However, both votes were nullified because he won the Immunity Challenge. ^4 JC and Charisse did not vote as they could only vote for each other. By virtue of winning the Final Immunity Challenge, only Rob voted. ^5 By virtue of winning the public vote, JC received one extra jury vote to win. |
