Survivor Hrvatska is the Croatian version of the reality competition series Survivor.

History[]

2005[]

The first Croatian version of Survivor was created by the TV channel HRT, influenced by the success of the Croatian version of Big Brother. It featured 20 contestants and was filmed locally on the island of Mljet.[1] It aired from May 12, 2005 to July 7, 2005 and was hosted by Kristijan Ptočki, but was cancelled after one season due to low ratings. It has since been lost to time and little to no footage of it has been found.

2012[]

The fourth season of Survivor Srbija also served as the second season of Survivor Hrvatska, as it featured Croatian contestants and aired in Croatia on RTL Televizija.[2] The Croatian broadcast included co-hosts Antonija Blaće and Milan Kalinić alongside the usual hosts Andrija Milošević and Marijana Batinić.

2022-present[]

United Group opened applications for a pan-regional version of Survivor on October 14, 2021.[3] The new version features the tagline "Na putu do pobjede" (On the Way to Victory). It premiered on March 14, 2022 on Nova S in Serbia,[3] Nova BH in Bosnia & Herzegovina,[4][5] Nova TV in Croatia,[6] and Nova M in Montenegro.[7]

On September 30, 2022, Nova TV announced that auditions for the new season were opened in Zagreb.[8] Auditions were also held in Split on October 8 and 9, 2022.[9] A new season was officially announced on February 17, 2023.[10] On February 21, 2023, Nova TV also confirmed Mario Mlinarić would be coming back to host the show.[11] All the new Croatian castaways were individually revealed on February 27, 2023, and a full reveal of the entire cast followed the next day.[12] The season was accompanied by features on Nova TV's official YouTube channels where contestants from both seasons of the reboot gave their comments on the season week after week.
