Survivor 4 (サバイバー4) is the fourth season of Survivor (Japan).
After 39 days in Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands, Kōshin Gunji, a prefecture carpenter from Ibaraki, defeated Atsuko Koizumi, a prefecture studio photographer from Kanagawa, in a 5-2 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.
Production[]
The season took place on the island of Rota, in the Northern Mariana Islands. Filming began in November to December 2002.
A total of nine episodes aired, making Survivor 4 the shortest season in the Survivor (Japan) franchise.
Twists/Changes[]
- Tribe Composition: The sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes of eight.
- Tribe Switch: At the final thirteen, a tribe switch occurred.
- Merge: The tribes merged with ten contestants remaining.
- Final Tribal Council Format: Two finalists faced a jury comprised of seven people.
