Survivor 49 is the forty-ninth season of the CBS competitive reality television series Survivor.
Prior to its airdate, Survivor 49 was announced to have produced two returning players for the upcoming 50th season.

- Tribe Division: The 18 castaways were divided into 3 tribes of 6. No unifying theme was used in dividing the tribes.
- Penalties for Losing Immunity Challenges

- Simplified Final Four Tribal Council
- Reformatted Final Tribal Council: Instead of having each jury member speak individually, an open forum was held to ensure a more insightful rapport between the jury and finalists.
