Survivor 1 (サバイバー1) is the first season of Survivor (Japan).

After 39 days, Eri Minoshima defeated Daisuke Yoshino in a 5-0 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.

Production

The location of the season was in the Ngemelis Islands in Palau. The sixteen castaways competed from March to April 2002.

Format

• Tribe Composition: The sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes of eight.
• Summit: On Day 20, both tribes were tasked with selecting an ambassador to attend a summit. The ambassadors would have to choose which camp the merged tribe would live at.
• Merge: The merged tribe was comprised of ten members.
• Final Tribal Council Format: Two finalists faced a jury of six, with any juror having the right to abstain from voting.
• Tiebreaker: In the event of a tied vote, the votes cast against the castaways in question from previous Tribal Councils will be taken into account. The castaway that had more votes would be eliminated.
