The Strong Five (briefly known as the "Strong Six") is the dominant alliance of Survivor 48.

On Day 12, David Kinne approached the strong players and suggested they align based on strength and loyalty. He also claimed he wanted them to play with honor and integrity. Everyone agreed and started going after members not in the alliance. Despite David later being betrayed and blindsided by Joe Hunter because he distrusted him, the Strong Five stayed strong and repeatedly eliminated people from the other side. Kyle Fraser, aligned with the group and with outsider Kamilla Karthigesu, played the middle and worked to ensure he was loyal to the alliance and to Kamilla. However, the alliance was unaware of Kyle's and Kamilla's alliance. On Day 17, Joe decided to include Kamilla and Mitch Guerra into the alliance as the Strong Six. The Final Three fully comprised members of the alliance. Ultimately, Kyle was awarded the title of Sole Survivor for his social game and ability to play the middle.

History[]

Creation[]

After Bianca Roses got voted out, all of the remaining castaways got on the Lagi camp and the game’s individual stage began. David Kinne decided to have all of the strong players together to the end, bringing Joe Hunter, Eva Erickson, Kyle Fraser, and Shauhin Davari into the alliance. David also wanted Mary Zheng to be in the alliance, which no one protested, although Kyle and Shauhin were not pleased about Mary being an ally. This created the “Strong Five” alliance, with the addition of Mary. The alliance had a strict honor code and decided to go after the outsiders. Unbeknownst to the members, Kyle had an alliance with outsider Kamilla Karthigesu, who has been his number one ever since the Civa days first began.

Targeting the Other Side[]

The strong players wanted to go after all of the castaways who were not part of the alliance. The players were: Charity Nelms, Saiounia Hughley, Cedrek McFadden, Chrissy Sarnowsky, Star Toomey, Mitch Guerra, and Kamilla (whom Kyle did not want to be voted out). This was planned in order to have all of the strong members to be at the end as the final five. The group would try their best to win any individual Immunity Challenges so that they can vote out the weaker players. On Day 13, Charity was voted out in a 7-5-1 vote. On Day 14, Joe and David both won individual Immunity Necklaces, although David and his group were able to go to Tribal Council last. At Split Tribal Council, Sai was unanimously voted out first before the jury phase, and Cedrek was also unanimously voted out and became the first member of the jury.

Joe Turns on David[]

On Day 15, David and Mary began to pursue Kamilla, thereby creating an easier path to victory. However, Kyle was hesitant about it as he didn’t want to lose his number one. He tells her that David wanted to flip it to her, which caused Kamilla to target David as a result. Joe was also caught off guard by the sudden Kamilla push as he did not even consider getting her out that early. Chrissy kept on yelling out Shauhin and Joe’s name, which led her to being voted out unanimously after a heated Tribal Council.

David, still confused as to why Kyle did not want Kamilla gone, started to get suspicious of him and Shauhin, as he believed that they were working with Kamilla. Kyle cut ties with David as a result of trying to get Kamilla out. He then talked to Joe and Eva and made the unfortunate mistake of insulting Joe by saying he went back on his word because of him voting for Chrissy and not Kamilla, which angered Joe and caused him to start distrusting David. During an Immunity Challenge, Joe wins after David suddenly stepped off the platform, devastating him. David and Mary then target Mitch out of fear that Kamilla would have an idol. Joe in the meantime, still isn't sure if he could trust David anymore. At Tribal Council, David was voted out and sent to the jury in a 6-3 vote.

Continued Domination[]

After David was voted out, Mary felt like she was on the bottom. Eva would talk to Mary and tell her the truth that she wouldn’t play the idol for her, but would not want bad blood between the two. Mary, Kamilla, Star, and Mitch decided to align in order to take out the strong members, although Mitch was wary about it due to the fact that Mary and Star wrote his name down. On Day 18, Joe decided to bring Mitch and Kamilla into the alliance, making the Strong Six of Joe, Eva, Kamilla, Kyle, Mitch, and Shauhin. Unbeknownst to Joe, Kamilla tells Kyle that Mary and Star want to target Joe in case he loses an Immunity Challenge. Kyle is a bit dismayed, but knows that Kamilla will do the dirty work to keep Kyle safe. Kyle wins reward on Day 18 and brings Eva, Kamilla, and Shauhin so that Joe can monitor the rest of the castaways at camp. Joe wins his third Immunity Challenge on Day 19. Mary decides to make a move on Kyle and tells Kamilla, but Kamilla is livid because Mary wanted to take her number one out. She goes to tell Joe and Mitch, and they decide to take Mary out. The Strong Six then get together to choose as a group on who to take out, and they all say Star. At Tribal Council, Mary received two votes from Kamilla and Mitch, but Star was voted out.

Mary, clearly upset again that one of her allies is gone, still wanted to pursue Joe, but Kyle did not want to follow her plan. Angered, she decided to crack open coconuts so that she could express her feelings. This annoyed everyone else, and they all decide to get Mary out due to her behavior. On Day 21, Kamilla wins her first individual immunity after Joe made an error of placing a block on the wrong side. She decides to take Mitch and Eva to the reward. Mary, although happy for Kamilla, breaks down because she feels like she’s on the bottom again and again. She decides to publicly tell Joe that she is writing his name down, causing him paranoia. This greatly annoys Shauhin as he thinks Joe is getting worried for nothing, to the point that he even considers writing his name down. At Tribal Council, the Strong Six unanimously vote Mary out, causing David to stand up as a tribute to his number one.

Kyle's Big Move on Shauhin[]

On Day 22, Shauhin wins his first reward challenge and takes Joe and Kyle to the Survivor Sanctuary. This frustrates Mitch and angers Kamilla as they believe that he just gave Joe another individual immunity win. As expected, on Day 23, Joe wins his fourth individual Immunity Challenge, frustrating Kamilla. Kyle devises a plan for Kamilla to get Shauhin out after he tells Kyle that he wants to flip on Joe and Eva. Kyle says that this can work so that it can get him and Kamilla to the final four. Kyle tells Joe that Shauhin has flipped but then lies that he showed Kamilla the idol. This surprises Joe and he goes to tell Eva about what he was told. Eva thinks that Kyle is telling the truth, and Joe goes to talk to Kamilla. She corroborates Kyle’s story and lie. Joe goes to Shauhin and confronts him about what was happening, leading an argument between the two and Shauhin is greatly angered by it, but still sticks to voting Mitch out. Kyle's plan works as Shauhin is voted out, though Kamilla votes for Mitch.

Final Eliminations[]

On Day 24, Kamilla pulled a come from behind and won her second Immunity/Reward Challenge. She then takes Eva to the Sanctuary. Before Tribal Council, everyone tells Mitch that they are voting him out due to being too likable, much to his sadness. He is then voted out. On Day 25, Kamilla tells Kyle that she’s making him do fire if she wins immunity, causing Kyle to say he was thinking of having her do the same if he wins. Kyle then promises Joe he will bring him to the end if he wins. Kyle goes on to win the Final Immunity Challenge, and he takes Joe to the Final Three. During Tribal Council, Kamilla suffers a brutal loss to Eva as she couldn’t make a flame, leading to her getting eliminated. This makes Eva, Kyle, and Joe the Final Three castaways.

Winner[]

At Final Tribal Council, Eva and Joe refused to campaign against each other and Eva additionally struggles to separate her game from Joe's, while Kyle explains to the jury about his social and strategic gameplay. Kyle ultimately wins Survivor 48 due to his stronger social and strategic games, getting votes from Kamilla, Mitch, Shauhin, David, and Chrissy. Eva becomes the runner-up after receiving votes from Mary and Star, and Joe takes third place after receiving a single vote from Cedrek.
