Survivor[]

As one of five African-American contestants on the season, Stephannie started her game on the Manihiki tribe. Rebecca Borman and Sundra Oakley became quick friends, while Nate Gonzalez and Sekou Bunch took on the leadership role. Stephannie found herself in the middle of the two factions. Unfortunately, Manihiki lost the first Immunity Challenge. After losing the challenge, Manihiki was given the right to choose a member of one of the opposing tribes to be sent to Exile Island. Nate and Sekou took the decision in their hands even though it was meant to be a tribe decision. At camp, both factions vied for Stephannie's vote. The men wanted to vote off Sundra because they felt that she was a weak link while the women wanted to oust Sekou because he was less productive than Nate. Ultimately, she felt Sekou wasn't working hard enough and cast the crucial vote that eliminated him and spared Sundra.

Stephannie felt disheartened by the fact that the tribe did not have fire and by the fact that they were stereotyping African-Americans. Stephannie was determined to make fire and was soon able to make it along with Rebecca. At the combined Reward and Immunity Challenge Hiki was lagging behind, but due to the Aitutaki tribe purposely throwing the challenge, Hiki was able to claim third place.

During the tribe swap of "Flirting and Frustration", Manhiki was dissolved. The tribes were formed through a Schoolyard Pick. Stephannie was the last woman chosen, ending up on the Rarotonga tribe, along with Nate and Rebecca. At the Immunity Challenge, Stephannie dropped out of the challenge to help the tribe win. This worked as Raro was able to claim victory.

In "Ruling the Roost", Stephannie joined an alliance created by the women of the tribe to counteract the perceived all-male alliance. The men felt in control, telling the women to work while they rested. This annoyed Stephannie. At the Immunity Challenge, Stephannie was in charge of starting the fire. She was unable to do so, which lead to Raro losing the challenge. After the immunity loss, Stephannie openly admitted to being the weakest player and said she wouldn't be offended if they voted her off. Nate snapped at the opportunity to vote her off at the upcoming Tribal Council. Rebecca, however, wanted Stephannie to join the girls of the tribe (and eventually Brad Virata and Adam Gentry) in blindsiding J.P. Calderon, who despite his usefulness in challenges was getting on people's nerves with his attitude. The plan worked and at Tribal Council Stephannie was saved. Stephannie would find herself in another mess when Rarotonga lost the next Immunity Challenge. The tribe was set on voting out the annoying Cristina Coria but when she told Nate she was looking forward to eating real food, Nate interpreted that statement as Stephannie wanting to quit and tried to get her voted off. The majority of the tribe felt Cristina was not being a team player and was annoying. Stephannie caught wind of Nate wanting to vote her off and quickly told everyone she did not want to go home and that her statement was misinterpreted. However, Stephannie failed to convince them otherwise, and they unanimously voted her off, 7-1.
