Slip, Slide & Score (also known as Slip Slidin' Away, Slide Show, Slip n' Slide, Slip, Slop, Slap, and By Any Means) is a recurring challenge that originated in Survivor: Fiji and was used in later seasons.
Rules[]
In one on one rounds, two castaways must race down a slippery track to retrieve a particular color-coded numbered ball, then throw it into a basket at the end of the track to score a point.
In Survivor: One World and Survivor: Cambodia, instead of numbered balls, the castaways had to retrieve rings as they raced down the slippery track. When they got to the end, they had to try to hook their rings on a wooden post.
In Survivor: Blood vs. Water, instead of a track, there was a ramp slide. Rings were used yet again instead of numbered balls.
History[]
United States[]
Moto won this challenge when it first appeared as a Reward Challenge in Survivor: Fiji.
The Villains won this challenge when it later reappeared in Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, winning camp materials and a toolbox via Sears Catalog.
Kim Spradlin won this challenge when it appeared as an individual Immunity Challenge in Survivor: One World.
In Survivor: Blood vs. Water, Tadhana got their first win when they beat Galang by 5–2.
In Survivor: Cambodia, the third revision of the Ta Keo tribe secured a close victory over Bayon, winning for themselves a picnic.
Australia[]
Compared to the American version, the Australian Survivor variant of the challenge involves significantly more physical contact between competitors in each matchup.
In Blood v Water, where the challenge was more reminiscent of the traditional American format, the Blood and Water tribes were further divided into two teams on each tribe. Each team would compete independently for reward. Despite this team division, the two Blood teams ended up winning the challenge. During this challenge, Nina Twine sustained an ankle injury that later caused her to be pulled from the game.
Mexico (Unofficial)[]
In La Isla 2012, the castaways retrieved one of three balls and had to score them into a hole using their foot. The first tribe to get 15 points would win. Famosos tribe got a few points first, thanks to El Travieso's accuracy. But, his insistence on participating in the challenge over and over again led to him becoming less successful in his throws, therefore giving the Desconocidos tribe the win.
Quebec[]
South Africa[]
In Malaysia, the tribes competed for a reward of comfort items. Iban defeated Bajau 3-1, with Amanda Hoosen scoring the third point against Nichal Ramchander to win their first challenge as a new tribe.
United Kingdom[]
The Australian version of the challenge was used as the second Reward Challenge of Survivor U.K. (2023), where the first tribe to score four points won fishing gear. In the sixth round, La Nena's Doug Swinbanks and Caletón's Nathan Dyke engaged in an intense fight, with Doug pulling through to score the winning point for La Nena and dealing Caletón their third straight defeat.
