Though he currently works as a financial sales manager, Simon's previous jobs as a pro-footballer and removal man testify to his physicality. He has little Survival experience, but spent two nights sleeping rough in London for a charity, surviving on bread and water alone.
He is currently single, but divorced with two children Dana (10) and Alex (7). His mother died when he was less than two years old and he consequently spent five years in a children's home which he describes as "fantastic."
He sees himself as determined, happy, and quick witted, but is able to make tough decisions as a manager and is very much aware of the tactical aspects of Survivor. He has a firm belief in his ability to persuade people to his way of thinking.[2]
