Shoot 'n' Shuffle (also known as Island Hopping, Tocantins Shuffle, Pacific Shuffle, Shuffleboard, and Lost in the Shuffle) is a recurring Survivor challenge where the contestants play a Survivor version of the game shuffleboard.
The castaways would play a version of shuffleboard, either aiming to land their pucks closest to a designated target or knocking their opponent's pucks off the gameboard.
History[]
United States[]
The challenge first appeared as an Immunity Challenge in The Amazon. The challenge was divided into two parts. First, castaways would use a slingshot to shoot down plates with shuffleboard tiles attached. After ten rounds, the castaways used the tiles acquired to play shuffleboard. Jenna Morasca was the first to win this challenge and won immunity.
In Vanuatu, the challenge was known as Island Hopping. Here, castaways slid discs across a map of the Vanuatu Islands. If a disc goes into the volcano, it will not be knocked out. The contestant with the most discs on islands at the end of the challenge won. Chris Daugherty won immunity.
Tocantins saw the challenge simplified to a basic game of shuffleboard. Each contestant had three discs, with the closest disc to the target winning immunity. Sierra Reed was close to winning, but Debbie Beebe managed to edge her out and won the challenge.
The challenge was adapted to a duel in Redemption Island. The first castaways to land all three of their shuffleboard pucks in the designated end-zone would stay in the game. Matt Elrod and Mike Chiesl won this challenge, eliminating Julie Wolfe.
A second duel version known as Lost in the Shuffle appeared in South Pacific. Here, contestants began with four pucks on the game board. The first person to knock all of their opponent's pucks off the board would win the challenge. Christine Shields Markoski won, eliminating Elyse Umemoto.
