A former U.S. Marine, she is remembered most for her strong but eccentric personality in the game and her mutual dislike towards her own tribe, Galu, particularly tribe mates Laura Morett and Dave Ball. This caused her to turn traitor and go against her Galu tribemates at the merge, ultimately siding with the Foa Foa Four. In the long run, this switch backfired, as she was ultimately disposed by the underdog alliance when they no longer needed her services.

Shannon Waters (45)
Hometown: Renton, Wash.
Shannon Waters is proud to be the first female Marine Sergeant to play the game of Survivor. Although she has completed her military service and is now in the world of sales, Shannon will always remain true to her roots as a second generation Marine.
After serving her country for five years, Shannon went onto become a chef before changing gears to be a sales representative for a food service company. She credits her success to her industry knowledge and people skills. In her sales role, she feels connected to people soon after meeting them and is able to understand how to deliver what they genuinely need. This ability helped her achieve "Salesman of the Year" in 2008, along with the support of a great sales team.
On the weekends, Shannon splits her time between riding her Harley, which she's affectionately named "Chunky", enjoying the companionship of her dogs and hanging out with family. As number 8 out of 9 kids, she has plenty of family in close proximity to keep her busy.
Shannon is committed to preparing for the game. She has lost 4 pant sizes and 70 pounds but admits that she may have trouble staying under the radar. "I'm like this ball of energy just ready to explode, because I'm putting it out there and I think that rocks."
Shannon is a native of Renton, Wash., where she currently resides with her canine kids Bruce and Kali.
Shannon "Shambo" Waters was placed on the Galu tribe. At the selection for tribe leader Shambo voted for Erik. Shambo earned votes from John, Russell S., and Monica, but the tribe elected Russell as the leader. At the first challenge, Shambo was placed at the puzzle. Despite her concerns, Shambo did very well. Foa Foa won the challenge in the end. Shambo was considered the outsider of the Galu tribe as she didn't really fit in with any of them. She felt more at home when she was sent to the Foa Foa tribe for a day and got along with everybody, which would prove important later on. Shambo was the only player to vote against Monica (aside from Yasmin) in the Tribal Council where Yasmin was eliminated, further alienating herself from the tribe. Monica scolded Shambo for voting against her and when Shambo tried to deny it was her, Monica knew she was lying. When both tribes were sent to a double elimination at Tribal Council in on Day 15, Shambo was a target for voting off Monica, but Shambo was safe when Jeff cancelled the double elimination. Since Russell S. was removed from the game due to injury, Shambo was chosen to be the new Tribe Leader by the men, which made her feel a little more united with the tribe. Laura and Monica were angered Shambo was chosen to be the new leader. Galu won the next two challenges. As the leader, Shambo made Laura the observer to go to Foa Foa, which the latter resented and knew Shambo chose her on purpose.
After the merge, Shambo's friendship with Foa Foa and her animosity towards Laura made her unsure of whether or not she would stay with Galu. In the first post-merge Tribal Council, Shambo's uncertainty continued as she was the only one other than Erik to vote off Jaison when Erik was voted off. In the next Tribal Council, Shambo, though knowing Russell H. had the Hidden Immunity Idol, stuck with Galu in voting off Russell H., but Russell's idol caused Kelly to be eliminated instead. Shambo then sided with Foa Foa in voting off Laura as soon as she didn't win immunity and played a part in Laura's elimination, pleasing Shambo. With Shambo's help, all the former Galu members would be systematically eliminated. However, when Brett won immunity on Day 36, Shambo tried to convince her allies to vote off Mick, but she was voted off unanimously 5-1.
At the Final Tribal Council, Shambo apologized to America for dismantling Galu, adding that she questions her judgement at the time. Shambo called Mick's gameplay feckless, which he was unaware of the word's meaning and said he would have to look it up which Shambo nodded her head to and said "You do that". Then she turned to Natalie, calling her a coattail rider. She asked Natalie how would America perceive the fact that she is a finalist. Natalie said that the she would be viewed as the most ill-equipped and should have been the first to go. Natalie added that the aggressive girl would be targeted for elimination, which Shambo called major BS on her part. Shambo said there is no way on earth that she would vote for either of them. Sure enough, Shambo voted for Russell H. to win who lost Natalie in a 7-2-0 vote.
