Challenges[]
Challenge: A-Mazing Gabon
The castaways would have to dig a hole under a wall, cross a maze made out of planks, and untie a series of knots that would open a gate that led to a maze with 25 Gabonese huts. In three of the huts would be a bag of puzzle pieces. One puzzle bag at a time would need to be retrieved from the maze and dropped off at the finish platform. Once all three bags were retrieved, the first castaway to correctly assemble the puzzle would win.
Winner: Bob Crowley
Challenge: House of Cards
The castaways would be given 200 wooden tiles. The first castaway to use the tiles to build a house of cards 10 feet (3.0 m) tall would win. If after 30 minutes, no castaway has built the house of cards to over 10 feet (3.0 m) tall, the castaway who builds the tallest house of cards at the end of the time limit would win.
Winner: Susie Smith

Trivia[]
Behind the Scenes[]
Life at Ponderosa[]
The final three are glad the game is over. They arrive at Ponderosa and have some fun by eating, drinking and dancing with the others. The next day, everybody is ready to go home and talk about their experience playing Survivor.[2]
Other[]
- In a 2019 interview, Jeff Probst explained how the original votes were almost not read live: A former producer who was in charge of bringing the votes to the finale forgot to bring them. A crew member, Chris Campbell, one of only three producers who knew the combination to the safe where the votes were kept, rushed to the CBS offices on a motorcycle 30–40 minutes before the live show. He broke through a glass panel of the locked production office, collected, and faxed the votes to another producer Dan Munday, who traced the votes by hand. The votes were successfully reproduced shortly before the live show. About two minutes before the votes were to be read, Campbell returned with the original votes, and Probst swapped out the traced ones with the authentic ones mere moments before he headed onstage.[3]
