Sally Schumann is a contestant from Survivor: Panama.

Despite being on the outs of the all-male alliance on the La Mina tribe, Sally's performance in Immunity Challenges helped her to stay in the game over the other women, and a fortuitous twist at the final eleven kept her safe long enough to enter the merge. Nevertheless, as a member of the minority, she was voted out in 8th place by the Casaya Alliance.

Born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, Sally Schumann spent a lot of time outdoors. She attended Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she played midfield on the women's soccer team and earned her Bachelor's Degree in social work. She spent the last four years employed as a social worker and varsity girl's soccer coach at Buffalo High School in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Sally describes herself as compassionate, competitive and funny. The accomplishment she is proudest of is having trained for and completed her first marathon last summer. Her favorite sports to watch include baseball and hockey. She enjoys many outdoor activities, such as fishing, camping and playing broomball. Reading, listening to music and spending time with friends and her dog, Darby, rank among her other pleasures. Photography is her greatest passion; a day spent behind her camera is a day well spent.

Survivor and The Amazing Race are the television shows Schumann never misses. A huge Survivor fan, she has applied for the show a total of five times. This was the first time she made it to the semifinals. Schumann believes she has a great shot at winning because she is determined and competitive, and she enjoys building relationships with people. She draws strength and inspiration from her older sister, whom she admires more than anyone else.

Schumann recently went through a divorce and is currently dating her best friend. She currently lives in Chicago, where she works as a waitress and bartender. Her birth date is December 10, 1978.[1]

Being 26 at the time, Sally started the season on the Bayoneta tribe which consisted of younger women. Her tribe lost the inaugural challenge and had to leave someone at Exile Island. The girls decided that Misty Giles would stay. At camp, Sally was annoyed when the women could not find a place to build a shelter. Despite the dysfunction of the tribe, the women rallied together to win the first Immunity Challenge.

On Day 4, Bayoneta was dissolved and the tribes become two. During a Schoolyard Pick, Sally was the first person selected by Terry Deitz to be one of the new La Mina members. Sally then picked Austin Carty who would pick Misty to be on the integrated tribe. La Mina would go on to win the following three challenges. During the time, Sally solidified her friendship with Misty, and both women tried to ally with Austin and Nick Stanbury. When La Mina lost the next Immunity Challenge, Sally assumed Ruth Marie Milliman was going home for being the physically weakest person on the tribe. However, she was shocked when Misty received the most votes and was eliminated.

Casaya won the next three challenges, leaving Sally in danger as an outsider on the tribe. However, she was spared as the men viewed her as much stronger than Ruth Marie. La Mina managed to break Casaya's winning streak by winning immunity, keeping Sally safe again. Sadly, Sally, along with Dan Barry, faltered on the puzzle of the next Reward/Immunity Challenge, giving Casaya the win and the numbers in a 6-4 advantage. The Casaya tribe decided to exile Sally, giving her Immunity, but preventing her from voting. Knowing that she would have been voted out, Sally considered Exile Island her saving grace.

On Day 16, after her stay on Exile Island, she arrived at Casaya beach. Initially confused by this, she realized the tribes had merged. Despite efforts by Terry and Austin, no Casaya flipped over to La Mina. Sally watched as her allies Nick and Austin were eliminated. At the next Immunity Challenge, the remaining castaways were given an option of competing for Immunity or eating cheeseburgers. Sally would be the only woman to compete along against Terry and Aras Baskauskas. Despite her best efforts, Terry won immunity and he didn't give her his idol. Being the last member of La Mina without immunity, Sally was voted out 6-2.

At Final Tribal Council, Sally asked Aras and Danielle who contributed the most to the Casaya Alliance. Both said Cirie because of friendship and strategy. Sally cast her vote for Aras to win.
