Robinson Ekspeditionen 2010 is the fourteenth season of Robinson Ekspeditionen.
This season is notable for its highly controversial opening twist, which left some castaways feeling humiliated and prompted debate about whether the show was suitable for family viewing. The psychological experiment caused further distaste among viewers following on from the controversial 'nude race' from the previous season.
After 51 days, Søren Engelbret defeated Hans Ole Ravnholt and Zabrina Natasja Kondrup in a final challenge to become the Sole Survivor.
Production[]
During filming, at least six members of the production crew, including host Jakob Kjeldbjerg and castaway H.K., were infected with dengue fever and hospitalized. The entire crew and cast were evacuated to the nearby city of Johor Bahru as a precaution, but were eventually allowed to continue the season on different islands.
Twists/Changes[]
- "Slavery": The major twist this season is that the castaways were divided into tribes with half of each tribe being "masters" and the other half being "slaves". The castaways' individual statuses were determined in a challenge they took part in before they were divided into tribes. The twelve members of each gender competed in a challenge against each other with the five winners being the "masters" of their tribe and each getting to pick one of the seven challenge losers from the other tribe as their "slave".
- Utopia: Through the "slave" selection process, the four castaways (two of each gender) who were not chosen were eliminated and sent to Utopia to compete against each other as well as future eliminated castaways in order to earn a spot back in the game.
- Name Swap: In Episode 2, the "slavery" twist was abandoned and the tribes were switched. In addition to the Tribe Switch, the tribe names were switched; Minang became the red tribe, and Tenga became the yellow tribe.
- Joker: A castaway, H.K., entered the game in Episode 3 as a mole who was cast by production.
- Mole's Council: One Tribal Council would belong to the mole, and they would eliminate a castaway. However, as the mole was medically evacuated, they eliminated a castaway after the cast was evacuated to Johor Bahru, a nearby city in Malaysia.
- Executioner: In Episode 8, all the castaways were tied to a tree and blindfolded. One of them would be picked to be the executioner, and would pick someone to receive a "black hand" marking. Following this, all the castaways, still blindfolded, were lined up and the host would leave the mark on the chosen castaway. The executioner would have two more opportunities to leave a mark later on in the game, following which the tribe would have to decide who they thought the executioner was. If they were correct, the executioner would be eliminated. If they were incorrect, the three marked castaways would be eliminated.
- Final Challenge: Instead of there being a jury, the Final Three took part in a final challenge to determine the winner.
