Robinson 2009 is the eleventh season of Expedition Robinson. This is the first season to be broadcast on the Swedish television channel TV4 on March 21, 2009, replacing the series from TV3.
Ellenor Pierre defeated Jarmo Heinonen in a 4-3 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.
Twists/Changes[]
- No Tribes: Initially, the 18 castaways were not divided into tribes. They arrived at the marooning location, a swamp, in three separate groups - three hiked through the jungle, ten had to use a raft, and five rode a boat. The only tool they were given was a machete.
- Challenge Elimination: On Day 3, the castaways competed in an Individual Immunity Challenge, where everyone had to balance on a plank for as long as possible. The first person to fall was eliminated and the winner received immunity at the subsequent Tribal Council, which all 17 remaining castaways attended.
- Haves vs. Have Nots: The tribe that won the first Reward Challenge won the right to live at a sandy beach, whereas the losing tribe would have to remain at the swamp.
- Double Tribal Council: In "Episode 6", no Reward or Immunity Challenge took place. Instead, each tribe voted for a castaway to take part in an elimination duel. The castaway that lost the challenge would be eliminated.
- Vote Removal: For the first two Tribal Councils following the merge, as a punishment, the last-placing finisher in the previous Immunity Challenge would be ineligible to vote.
- Final Five Immunity Challenge: At the final five Immunity Challenge, three castaways would win immunity. Therefore, only the two losing castaways could receive votes, and as they could only vote for each other, they were ineligible to vote.
- Semi-Finals: At the final four, the castaways competed in a challenge in which the winner would advance directly to the Final Two and the last-place finisher would be eliminated. The remaining two castaways would compete in another challenge to determine the second finalist.
