Robinson: Malaysia is the twenty-second season of Robinson. It premiered on the Swedish television channel TV4 alongside on the on-demand streaming service TV4 Play on October 9, 2022.

Lars-Olov Johansson defeated Martin Larsson and Kristofer Nystedt in the final challenge to become the Sole Survivor.

Production

The season was filmed in the Strait of Malacca in Malaysia between March and May of 2022. The last time that Expedition Robinson was recorded in Malaysia was during the tenth season, Expedition Robinson 2005.

Petra Malm took over hosting duties after the previous host, Anders Öfvergård, was fired over inappropriate behavior during the post-season party after the last season.

Twists/Changes

• Returnees: Three players from the previous season returned for this season — Christina Nordback, Isabella Resmark, and Sandra Cucarano, who will all start their game in the Borderlands.
• The Borderlands: The Borderlands returns this season as well, airing concurrently on the on-demand streaming service TV4 Play like previous seasons.
• Schoolyard Pick/Day 1 Elimination: The eighteen castaways arrived on a single beach, finding two giant wooden circles in the sand. They were instructed by a letter to divide into two teams of eight, leaving two castaways without a tribe. Those two — Britten Nordström and Pelle Lilja, instead became tribe captains and gained Individual Immunity for the first week and got to pick their tribes. The final two standing on the circles — Andreas Haraldsson and Martin Larsson, was eliminated from the game but got sent to the Borderlands instead.
• Tribe Captains: Each week, the tribes picked someone to become their tribe captain. During the first two cycles of the season, that castaway received Individual Immunity for that week.
• Duel: On Day 2, the tribe captains, Britten and Pelle. had to choose one member of their respective tribes to compete in a duel for a fire striker. The winner would receive the fire striker while the loser would be eliminated from the game and sent to the Borderlands.
• Auction Market/Additional Tribemate: On Day 5, the tribe captains Britten and Pelle and a tribemate of their choosing attended an auction market together with all the castaways' personal belongings. After a trade of belongings between the tribes and a round of bidding for a basket full of fruit, Petra revealed a hidden box. The South Team won that auction and it was revealed to contain a new tribemate — Alexander Strandberg, who promptly joined the South Team.
• Vote Remover: On Day 6, the South Team partook in a limbo challenge, where the winning castaway would be able to give a Vote Remover to someone in the North Team before the first Tribal Council. In receiving the advantage, the castaway chosen would get one vote casted for them removed from the vote count.
• Urns of Faith: After the first Tribal Council, the Urns of Faith returned from the previous season where the eliminated castaway would get to break one out of eight urns and be able to either give a Blood Revenge Vote to someone in their former tribe or challenge one of them to a duel.
• Tribemate Exchange: On Day 8, the newly appointed tribe captains, Kristofer Nystedt and Alexander, had to choose a tribemate each to be exchanged with a castaway of their choosing from the Borderlands, effectively eliminating the chosen tribemate from the game. Markus Andersson from the North Team and Pernilla Johansson from the South Team were exchanged with Andreas Haraldsson and Martin Larsson respectively, with the latter pair also receiving Individual Immunity for their next Tribal Council.
• Fate Week/Fate Challenges: During the fifth cycle, instead of the regular Reward and Immunity Challenges, there would be Fate Challenges, where the winning tribe or castaway would be able to determine which castaways would attend the fifth Tribal Council.
• Captain Challenge: At the merge during the sixth cycle, the castaways competed in a challenge to become the tribe captain for the merged tribe. The castaways who finished last in either the first or second heat would be eliminated and sent to the Borderlands.
• Voteless: During a feast offered for the merged tribe, the tribe captain had to decide on which castaway would lose their vote at the next Tribal Council. That castaway had to immediately choose the next castaway to lose their vote and so forth until four castaways were selected and lost their right to vote.
• Immunity Nullifier: After a treasure hunt on the merge tribe's beach on Day 24, Alexander received an Immunity Nullifier, which, when played at Tribal Council, would nullify a castaway's Individual Immunity, meaning they would be eligible to receive votes.
• Voting Challenge: The castaways who lost their right to vote competed in a challenge where the winner would regain their vote back, along with choosing one of the other voteless castaways to also regain their vote.
• Double Tribal Council: During the eighth cycle it was revealed that two castaways would be voted out in two separate Tribal Councils occurring on the same night. The Individual Immunities and Voteless statuses were kept active during both Tribal Councils.
• Final Week Challenges: During the tenth and final cycle, the Final Seven competed in three separate challenges collecting points. The winning castaway in each challenge would receive 15 points, the castaway finishing in second place would receive 10 points and the remaining castaways would each receive 5 points. The castaway with the most points after these three challenges would automatically qualify as a finalist for the Final Challenge. The castaway finishing in last place in each of these challenges would be eliminated from the game.
• Final Tribal Council: On Day 41, the last four eliminated castaways (Helen Lindborg, Sandra Cucarano, Isabella Resmark and Andreas) returned to form a jury together with the only finalist, Kristofer, and these five would vote out one of the remaining three castaways: Alexander, Lars-Olov or Martin.
