Robinson: Fiji is the seventeenth season of Expedition Robinson.

After 42 days, DK Westlund defeated Henrik Norgren in a 7-2 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.

Production

This season marked the return of the series to the Swedish television channel TV4 after three years of hiatus from the previously aired season on Sjuan, Robinson: Love Edition. Anders Öfvergård took over hosting duties from Linda Lindorff for the new series.

The airing schedule was changed from a single episode each week to at least five episodes each week. Episodes lasting a half-hour would air on Mondays through Thursdays, plus an hour episode on Sundays.

Twists/Changes

• Immunity Amulets: For the first time in the history of Expedition Robinson, Immunity Amulets were introduced. A castaway wearing his or her Amulet at a Tribal Council would become immune from the vote.
• Additional Individual Immunity Challenge: The losing tribe from the Immunity Challenge would compete individually in another challenge where the winning castaway would receive immunity from the pending Tribal Council.
• Advantage Talisman: Starting from the third cycle, the winning team in the Reward Challenge also won the Advantage Talisman. When played at an Immunity Challenge, the tribe holding it would gain an advantage but the talisman would then transfer over to the opposing tribe.
• Jokers: At the end of episode 15, three new castaways (Alexandra Kolam, Jan Bonnevier and Richard La Roche) were dropped off on a separate beach from the other tribes. They joined the game as members of the South Team by episode 18, with each receiving an Immunity Amulet in the process.
• The Borderlands Vote: Following the merge, castaways who had been voted out or eliminated in challenges were sent to The Borderlands, where they would compete in duels in order to stay in the game. The loser of each duel would be permanently eliminated, with the winner of the final duel returning to the main game at the final seven.
• Final Immunity Challenge: At the final four, instead of two challenges taking place, one challenge occurred, being the usual 'plank' challenge. The two castaways who fell off the plank first would be eliminated, with the remaining castaways forming the Final Two.
