Renier Louwrens

Renier Louwrens is a contestant from Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island.

Renier established his persona as a strategically active player minutes into the game when he withheld a tribal Challenge Advantage from his fellow castaways until Nico Panagio coaxed him into revealing it. Despite this poor first impression, Renier quickly integrated himself into the Zamba Alliance and had a smooth ride into the merge. There, he found himself in the minority after Santoni Engelbrecht and Anesu Mbizvo flipped to rejoin the Vuna Alliance. His fate was sealed by the introduction of the Tied Destinies twist, which gave the Vuna Alliance the power and motive to vote him out together with his partner Amy Eliason.

"I've been playing the hypothetical game in my head for the past five years, discussing it and breaking it down with my wife and having loads of fun doing so," says chemical engineer Renier Louwrens (30, from Secunda) of his preparations to play the game. "My wife and I have watched every season of Survivor out there. It's my dream to be able to play the game I've grown so fond of over the past 20 years," he says.
