Raft and the Furious is a recurring water challenge in Survivor. It first appeared in Survivor South Africa: Maldives and reappeared internationally in Australian Survivor (2017).

Rules

The castaways will paddle on a raft out to a number of buoy markers. At each marker, one team member will dive down to release an object. With their objects collected, the team will paddle back to shore to complete a final task. The first team to finish wins.

History

South Africa

The challenge debuted in Survivor South Africa: Maldives as the season's first Immunity Challenge. However, only the "Plebs" showed up for the challenge. Dividing into two teams, the contestants had to paddle out to two markers to retrieve a bag of bamboo puzzle pieces, which they will use to spell the phrase "NOW I WON". Although the blue team held a strong lead, the yellow team consisting Harry Wiggins, Letshego Moshoeu, Malusi Mbambo, Tasleem Vally, and Tejan Pillay were able to catch up and spell their phrase first to win immunity.

United Kingdom

The Australian Survivor (2017) version of the challenge appeared as the second tribal Immunity Challenge of Survivor U.K. (2023). Caletón took the lead while collecting the crates as La Nena quickly fell behind. However, La Nena was able to make a comeback on stacking their bamboo tower. Ultimately, Caletón sealed their first victory, sending La Nena to their first Tribal Council.
