Competing in matchups, members of opposing tribes will attempt to push a turnstile against one another to cross a finish line and score a point.
In the challenge's original appearance in Survivor South Africa: Malaysia, the challenge was used as a single-round match-up, with every member of the tribe competing at the same time.

In Malaysia, the challenge was used for immunity immediately following the tribe switch. Six members of each tribe would push the turnstile 270° such that they could hit a gong. The physically superior Bajau tribe easily defeated the new Iban tribe to win immunity. During the challenge, Elsie Smith jammed her finger and had to receive medical attention.
In Champions, the challenge was used as the fifth Salvation Duel. Standing in a swamp, Corné Krige and Mark Fish faced off in one-on-one matches, attempting to push the turnstile towards a bamboo marker standing equidistant from their respective start points. Both tribe captains won two of the first four matches. In the decisive fifth round, Corné gained the upper hand and scored the game point, regaining control over the Salvation Cup after two consecutive losses.
In Immunity Island, the tribes nominated two members to compete on their behalf for reward. Vuna sent Dino Paulo and Marisha du Plessis, while Zamba sent Chappies Chapman and Wardah Hartley. Chappies took the first round against Dino, while Marisha beat Wardah in the second round. In the final round, both representatives of each tribe would compete all at once; Dino and Marisha beat Chappies and Wardah to win a trip to the FreshStop Survivor shop.
