On Edge of Extinction, Natalie, Amber and Danni all receive notes, directing them to go to a white tree. After getting to the tree, they find a chest with numbers on it. The note on the chest tells them that they must have the numbers in order to win. Amber, remembering the numbers on the crates, runs to the poll, where she finds the numbers on the crates. Amber however could not get the correct numbers. Natalie realizes that the string from the clue had shells on it arranged in a sequence of numbers. She uses that info to crack the code and win a steal-a-vote advantage. She has to give the note to one player in the game and the advantage would be on the opposing tribe.

Out for Blood is the third episode of Survivor: Winners at War.

Story

Day 7

At Sele, Adam talks to Denise about targeting Parvati next. Adam, Ben, and Michele all agree to take out Parvati, though Ben wants Rob out. Adam tells Ethan that they have to take out Parvati, but Ethan thinks Adam made a bad decision as Parvati is his closest ally.

S40 adam t
Adam
At tribal council, it was a unanimous vote. Danni went home because Boston Rob, Parvati and Ethan decided to betray her, so to me, the three old schoolers have been running the show here. [...] Boston Rob feels like he needs to be in control at all times. He won this game because he was in control from start to finish, but this is not Survivor: Redemption Island. This is Survivor: Winners at War. He needs to adapt and maybe play a little bit more like I am. [...] This is the time to draw a line in the sand and target some of the big dogs in this game.
S40 denise t
Denise
Right now, I'm feeling like I'm in a fairly good spot. Last night, Danni was voted out of the game and bequeathed her fire token to me. I had found the immunity idol, and I had to give half away, but before we went to tribal council, Adam luckily had given me back the other half of the idol, so it is now my idol, and it is whole, and it has power, and I feel secure that Adam and I are good, [...] but Ethan, Rob and Parvati appear to be very tight, so we need to take some control so that we are driving the boat versus maybe the three of them.
S40 ben t
Ben
I can't stand Rob because he's an alpha male, and he's going to take charge, but as long as I keep my temper down, I'm okay because we can put a vote where we want it whether it's Boston Rob or Parvati, but heh, I wish Rob would get off this island.
S40 adam t
Adam
Everybody at home will be shouting, "Why would you ever, ever, ever do this?! Why would I ever tell Ethan that I am going to vote out Parvati? Because if Parvati is going to go home, I need Ethan in my corner. I need him to be okay and still trust me."
S40 ethan t
Ethan
I'm cool with Adam, but you can't come to me telling me you're going to vote off Parvati. He knows I'm close to Parvati. That's a silly mistake on his part. Parvati is my number one. I trust her with my life, and to have one person that you can trust no matter what is more huge than having a decent relationship with Adam.

At Dakal, Tyson, knowing he's a target, feels the need to paint the target on someone else. He pitches to Yul and Sophie that Sandra needs to go for being too dangerous. Yul seems open to voting out Sandra, but says that he doesn't trust Tyson.

S40 sandra t
Sandra
Here I am for the fifth time, and once this is over, I'm retiring from the game, so this season I'm going to switch gears. I want to prove my worth to this tribe and catch a couple of fish.
S40 tyson t
Tyson
So right now, I'm in a new position in this game that I've never experience before being everyone's target, and it's been kind of a tricky seven days for me, a little bit of a roller coaster, so I need to point the target anywhere else. [...] I'm thinking throwing Sandra's name out would be easy. She's the weakest one on the tribe, and on top of that, Sandra has two million in the bank from Survivor, so toppling the queen could please everyone here.
S40 yul t
Yul
Sandra has a reputation for just using misinformation and stirring things up, and for me, I want to keep people who I feel like are playing a rational game, so they are not making unpredictable moves that will backstab me as I get toward the end. [...] I don't trust Tyson right now, but his proposal to vote out Sandra is an option.

Day 8

At Dakal, Tony picks up a shark to cook, which Sandra caught. Yul decides that Sandra should stay because she keeps morale high. Yul, then notifies Sandra that Tyson is targeting her, angering her as a result.

S40 sandra t
Sandra
I got us a shark! Us waking up to a shark steak breakfast, no one is at my level just yet!
S40 tony t
Tony
I said, "All right, let me jump. Let me be the hero. Let me grab the shark," so I grab the shark to pick it up. [...] As soon as I picked it up, it went, "Ahhh!"
S40 nick t
Nick
"Ahhh!"
S40 yul t
Yul
"Ahhh!" Tony is scared of sharks, so like the idea that the shark was going to bite him was freaking him out.
S40 tony t
Tony
So many thoughts went through my mind in a millisecond. The first reaction was to let it go, so it would have fell back in the water and it would have escaped. I would have just said, "Guys! Let me just swim to the Edge because you don't need to vote me off tonight. I know who's going!" [...] Oh man, what a cluster that was!
S40 yul t
Yul
We want to keep the momentum going, and I think one of the components of keeping that momentum going is keeping the morale high and keeping well-fed, and Sandra is a big part of that, so I know Tyson is targeting Sandra, but I don't want to lose Sandra.
S40 sandra t
Sandra
There is no way that Tyson is going to come after me and that he's not going to pay the price for it. Don't come after me! If you ****ing come after me, I better not find out about it.

On Edge of Extinction, Natalie, Amber, and Danni all receive notes, directing them to go to a white tree. After getting to the tree, they find a chest with numbers on it. The note on the chest tells them that they must have the numbers in order to win. Amber, remembering the numbers on the crates, runs to the mast, where she finds said numbers. Amber, however, could not get the correct numbers. Natalie realizes that the string from the clue had shells on it arranged in a sequence of numbers. She uses that info to crack the code and win a steal-a-vote advantage. She has to give the note to one player in the game and the advantage would be on the opposing tribe.

S40 danni t
Danni
Back at camp, when I was in the game, we had coconuts hanging around. There's no coconuts here on Extinction. You get very little rice every day, and if you don't provide for yourself, you're not gonna eat, so we're trying to spearfish, and it was my first time ever spear-fishing. I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful it is. I'd never seen anything like that before in my life.
S40 danni t
Danni
If I don't take anything else away from this game, getting that little fish tells me you may be down but you're never out, so I'm holding on to that here.

At Dakal, Sarah finds Natalie's note in her bag. Not only will it cost her a fire token, but she has to infiltrate the other camp and find the advantage without her opponents catching her. Sarah accepts and calls on her Cops R Us partner Tony to help her out that night. She goes to Sele and finds the torches. After struggling for a bit, she finds the advantage hidden inside the top of a torch. After finding the advantage she leaves.

Day 9

At the Immunity Challenge, Dakal takes the lead after Rob struggles to land his target, allowing them to get a head start in the puzzle. Dakal struggles in the puzzle however, opening the door for Sele. Both tribes are neck and neck, with Dakal narrowly winning.

At Sele, Adam has a sit-down with Rob, telling him that Parvati will eventually go after him. Rob agrees. Rob then goes to Michele and Jeremy to pitch an Adam blindside, which Parvati is down for. Michele, Jeremy, Denise and Ben are flabbergasted. Ben suggests voting Adam out. Michele talks to Jeremy about targeting Ethan to weaken Rob. Michele also considers taking out Adam for playing both sides. Michele feels that she and Jeremy hold a lot of power, and says she feels pressure to prove she deserved her win.

At Tribal Council, Adam points out that players that have played multiple times (Rob in particular) will have bigger targets, inciting a response from Rob. While the trio of Rob, Parvati and Ethan vote for Adam, the new schoolers minus Adam, who voted for Parvati, blindside Ethan. Ethan gives his Fire Token to Parvati and heads to Edge of Extinction.

Challenges

Challenge: Along the Watch Tower
Castaways must jump between three sets of raised ramps to the end of the course. If at any point a castaway falls while jumping, they must run back and start over. Once all tribe members have finished, they must dig a heavy ladder out of a sand pit, then prop it so that one member can retrieve a monkey's fist on top of a tripod. They must then toss the monkey's fist through a target in order to climb the first ramp of a tall tower. Afterwards, tribes must hoist each other to the top of a second ramp. Once everyone is at the top of the tower, two members must solve a tree puzzle. The first tribe to finish their puzzle wins.
Reward: Chicken kabobs and a grill
Winner: Dakal
