Omar Sánchez is a contestant from Supervivientes 2021.
A professional windsurfer who runs a surf school, he is perhaps more well-known for being the boyfriend (later ex-husband) of regular Telecinco personality Anabel Pantoja.

Supervivientes[]
Telecinco often cast a member of the Pantoja family on their celebrity reality shows, hoping for juicy celeb gossip and, with Isabel having done the show a couple of years previously, the Supervivientes casting department went for a much smaller figure in the family: a stranger to reality TV who hadn't done any of Telecinco's shows before.
Omar's time on the show was largely marked by his two immunity challenge wins, his love of the water being an asset during beach-based challenges. However, Omar's physique couldn't live up to the harsh challenges of Supervivientes life, and his weight loss - as well as his long beard - became a popular source of jokes on the show. After winning a reward challenge, Omar was allowed to take three of his luxury items, however he was given a warning after trying to swipe a couple more and put them into his pockets. Omar asked contestants to vote him out so he could return to Spain after a painful spider bite on his leg. They eventually did so three weeks after.

Post-Supervivientes[]
Ana and Omar were intended to get married during the time Omar was on the show, thus their wedding in the Canary Islands was pushed back to October. Omar mentioned in an interview that he lost 12 kilograms on the show, and shaved his long beard he grew. Omar and Ana's marriage lasted only four months, after Omar was unavailable to support the latter after the passing of her grandmother.
Omar went on Pesadilla en El Paraíso, the Spanish version of The Farm, and was the twelfth to be voted out.
Trivia[]
- Omar was the boyfriend of Supervivientes 2014 and Supervivientes 2022 contestant Anabel Pantoja at the time he competed. They later married, but have since then divorced.
- Omar revealed in an interview in 2024 that contestants earn €2,000 a week at least for taking part in the show. He earned between €7,000 and €12,000 a week, as a reality TV debutant, and was one of the most well-paid contestants - particularly welcome as he had little in his account previously.[citation needed]
