After losing the first Immunity Challenge, Nelly joined the majority of her tribe in voting out Jacky Moreau for his bossiness. Béatrice Cloix Penisson, another vocal member of the tribe who had toned down her commandeering attitude so that the heat wouldn't be on her, was left out of the loop concerning Jacky's elimination. Despite this, Nelly grew to admire Béatrice for her straightforward and strong character and the two became close and served as the tribe's cooks. When Xavier Lemasson was evacuated and eliminated from the game on Day 5 after falling face first and suffering a cervical sprain, Jacky returned to the game in his place. On Day 11, the rough conditions of the environment had begun to take its toll on Nelly and she became homesick. The rest of her tribe noticed this when she didn't eat fish with them and therefore felt that she was isolating herself socially. When her tribe lost the corresponding Immunity Challenge a couple of days later, she and Béatrice voted against Pierre Cambon because they felt that he was contributing the least to camp life. However, even though it seemed that the majority of the tribe would vote out Béatrice after Amel Fatnassi called her out for underestimating her performance in the Immunity Challenge, Nelly was targeted and eliminated instead for her recent demeanour.
