For the group section of the opening sudden death challenge, Myriam was partnered with Freddy Boucher, Christina Chevry, Anthony Parra, Kader Rebaï, and Claire Rolet. After the group transitioned into the individual section of this challenge, Myriam was the fourth woman to arrive at the finish line with her staff and was safe. After the challenge, Myriam was temporarily evacuated from the game due to having injured her ankle during the previous challenge, which left her with a social disadvantage as most of the other contestants were able to socialize with each other throughout the rest of the first day and the first night. Unfortunately, Myriam did not interact with her fellow contestants again anyway as she was permanently evacuated and eliminated from the game on Day 2 after it was determined that she had fractured her ankle.
The rules of Koh-Lanta state that in the event of an unorthodox elimination of a contestant, the previously eliminated contestant would reenter the game in place of the other contestant. However, in this case, no Tribal Council had taken place yet and the only contestants that had been eliminated already were the woman and man eliminated in the opening sudden death challenge, Joëlle Bourlier and Anthony Parra. With the contestants not even having been divided into tribes yet, this meant that Joëlle would be prioritized as the previously eliminated contestant to reenter in order to maintain the gender balance for the tribe composition. In spite of this, Joëlle refused to reenter to the game in Myriam's place due to her bitterness about her sudden elimination, so Anthony reentered the game in her place instead.

Post Koh-Lanta[]
- At the live final vote count in Paris, Denis Brogniart announced that Myriam would be guaranteed a spot on Koh-Lanta: Viêtnam. However, Myriam ultimately did not compete on this season because she was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment for it at this time. She stated to one source that she would compete on Koh-Lanta: Raja Ampat instead, but this did not happen either.

- While Myriam Desvergne and Joëlle Bourlier are not the first Koh-Lanta contestants to not be affiliated with a tribe, they are currently the only contestants to never be affiliated with a tribe in their Koh-Lanta careers.
- Had Myriam returned for an upcoming season as planned, she would have been the only Koh-Lanta contestant to play on multiple regular Koh-Lanta seasons.
