Moana Hope is a contestant from Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders (2018) and Australian Survivor: All Stars.

A fan and tribe favourite from day one in 2018, Moana led a blindside on Survivor veteran Russell Hantz, formed many strong relationships, particularly with Sharn Coombes and Mat Rogers, and found a Hidden Immunity Idol. However, a debilitating illness took its toll on her and she asked to be voted out to help the team, but not before assisting them one last time in flushing out Shane Gould's Hidden Immunity Idol.

Moana got a chance to finish what she started when cast in All Stars. Initially considered Mat Rogers's right-hand ally, Moana began to dictate a lot of her alliance's moves from the shadows after the Tribe Switch. At that point, she made some key connections with David Genat and Sharn which helped Moana remain in the majority for much of the rest of the game. Her inability to take out David before the endgame would be her undoing, with David opting to take Sharn to the end over Moana at the Day 49 Tribal Council.

Sadly for Moana, she was unwell during her season and left the game feeling like she hadn't been able to give it her all. When the opportunity came to join All Stars, Moana was ready to go. "I'm the underdog. Nobody knows what I'm capable of and in some ways, being sick last time should make everyone underestimate me this time. "I wasn't able to play as hard as I would've liked in my first season, so I definitely have some unfinished business." Moana recently got married to her long-time partner, Bella so leaving her and her younger sister Vinny behind was a big decision. As the fulltime caretaker for Vinny, working full time and an advocate for AFLW, Moana always has a lot on her plate. While her greatest fear on Australian Survivor is being eaten by a shark, Moana knows her more realistic concern is falling for what people tell her: "I can trust the wrong person and can be too nice." Despite losing her part of the initial Reward Challenge , Moana made a strong first impression and fit in with a tribe that heavily consisted other athletes. Her first course of strategic action in the game was getting the move against Russell Hantz started. Though the tribe was wary of Russell's history, many were hesitant to vote him off due to his experience as well as his possession of a Hidden Immunity Idol. Moana persisted, attempting to recruit the women as well as her closer male allies such as Mat Rogers and Samuel Hinton.

With multiple agendas in play at Tribal Council, Moana succeeded in forcing a tie between Russell and Jackie Glazier, and with the threat of Russell's idol out of the equation, the rest of the tribe except for Damien Thomlinson sent Russell home in the revote. At the next Tribal Council, Moana preferred to vote out Jackie. However, too many tribe members were worried about Damien either in challenges or as a late game threat, so Moana voted with the majority. After that vote, Moana's alliance regrouped, at the helm being herself, Sharn Coombes, and Mat.

Moana managed to find a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol during a reward. While everyone else was eating meat, Moana credited her ability to detect the idol clue to her vegetarianism. She found the idol at the Tribal Council where Damien was sent home. Things were looking good until Moana suddenly fell ill. Moana sat out of an Immunity Challenge that would have put her physical ability to good use, and due to Shane Gould and Jackie struggling, the Contenders won immunity. The plan was in place to split the votes between Shane and Jackie to flush Shane's idol out, until Moana pleaded the tribe to let her leave the game. Sharn was able to convince her to stay long enough for the tribe to vote her out all while successfully flushing Shane's idol. Moana finished in 19th place.

All Stars

Moana was an early target on Vakama because of her position in the minority alliance and her close friendship with Mat Rogers. During this time, Moana remained stealthy as she waited for her time to strike. She identified David Genat as a power player, and though she initially wanted him out, she then saw value in keeping him as an option. Moana's game started to gain traction after the Tribe Switch, during which her plan to make moves "in the shadows" began. Though her tightest ally Mat remained on Vakama, Moana kept her other close allies Jacqui Patterson and Tarzan Herlaar and connected with Sharn Coombes and Lee Carseldine. The key relationship would be with David, as the two had common enemies in Nick Iadanza and Phoebe Timmins. David felt Nick was sneakier, but Moana wanted to isolate David by removing his closest ally Phoebe from the game. This plan would have worked as Phoebe was voted out 4-3-2 on Day 18, but unfortunately for Moana a fire-making twist postponed Phoebe's elimination. All was not lost as David felt betrayed by Phoebe because she voted for Moana that night. Both Moana and David were on the same page now, leading the rest of Mokuta to vote out Phoebe and Nick at their only Tribal Council visits prior to the merge. Moana would become a key figure in keeping this alliance, the Mokuta seven, intact.

Because the remaining Vakama members initially thought David and Zach Kozyrski were swing votes, Moana became viewed as a leader of the majority alliance. This would cause Moana to receive three votes on Day 34 by the remaining outsiders Shonee Fairfax, Brooke Jowett, and AK Knight, which proved significant as another twist occurred that night. The top three vote earners of that and the following Tribal Council were sent to Exile Beach where the six castaways would compete in a series of challenges to earn immunity at the Tribal Council on Day 38. Moana won the first Exile challenge, but learned that Jacqui planned on flipping on Zach. Moana secretly didn't mind that move as it removed another close ally of David's, but remained loyal to the Mokuta alliance. This caused a 4-4 divide at the following Tribal Council, and with David immune, the Vakama alliance plus Jacqui targeted Moana. Moana was ultimately spared as the odds of success in the impending rock draw tiebreaker for the Vakama alliance appeared low due to David playing an Hidden Immunity Idol on Tarzan, which aided Sharn in convincing them to forego the tiebreaker and vote out Jacqui.

Though Moana was well-positioned to advance into the latter stages of the game, Brooke's Immunity Challenge win streak and David's idol became two major obstacles. These two came to a head at the Day 46 Tribal Council where Brooke won once again and it was the last night to play an idol. Moana opted to vote out Tarzan as beating Brooke was top priority and Tarzan performed the worst in individual challenges. David would win the penultimate challenge, giving Moana, Sharn, and David a long-awaited chance to send Brooke to the jury. At the Final Immunity Challenge, Moana was visited by her wife (who she married shortly before playing in All Stars) and her sister. Moana was the first one out of the challenge, and though she felt David would take her, David and Sharn began talking about deals while they remained in the challenge. Her pitch to David to keep her was that she felt she could give David a better challenge at Final Tribal Council than Sharn. David decided to take Sharn to the end, making Moana the 9th and final member of the jury.

Moana provided Sharn's only jury vote at Final Tribal Council, where she lost to David in a 8-1 vote.
