Mikey B. initially took control of his tribe by making a seven-player alliance which included everyone except Kathy, Tracy, and Chet. During Airai's first Tribal Council, he made the mistake of overthinking the whole situation, since Kathy found the individual Immunity Idol during the opening challenge (which could only be used during her first Tribal Council). After Kathy was sent to Exile Island where Mikey B. feared she would find the Hidden Immunity Idol, he wanted to explore every single contingency, which confused several of the voters and aggravated Joel. Seeing Mikey B. as a threat and wanting to make him weaker, Joel convinced his tribemates to blindside Mary, Mikey B.'s closest ally.

At Airai's next Tribal Council, Mikey tried to save himself by pitching to Joel that Chet was the weakest link and that, if he were to be eliminated, the rest of the tribe would soon follow since they would be voting out a physically strong player who would help the tribe during Immunity Challenges. However, Tracy, who was at risk of having her ally eliminated, pitched to Joel that Mikey B. would blindside him in the future if they did not vote him out. At Tribal Council, Mikey B. was voted out in 17th place, in part, due to Tracy's pitch.
