I would like to provide some feedback regarding anonymonous log-in.
I originally thought that when I posted anonymously that my IP Address would not be recorded. When I clicked Post, I was assigned as An Outcast (Not a welcoming name).
When I clicked on 'An Outcast', I saw that my IP Address had been recorded. This means that anyone who clicks on my profile can see my IP Address (Security Concerns). This is unfair as users are not informed or warned of this when they post.
In future, I hope that Survivor Wiki can display a message or warning about this to those who wish to post anonymously so that they are informed before they make a post. This would help to respect the privacy of those who wish to remain anonymous or not sign up for an account.
If necessary, the profile page for 'An Outcast' should not be available publicly. Perhaps the Wiki can consider another form of identification such as email. Again, it should not be made available publicly.
May I also request for my IP Address to be removed from the Wiki. If it is not possible, then it should not be made public for other users to view.
I hope that you could consider my feedback & advise me on how my IP Address could be removed.
Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I understand the need to prevent future spoilers.
Perhaps an alternative would be to add a note below the 'comments' of every page. (Format Change)
e.g. Note: Please note that your IP Address will be recorded & can be seen publicly by all users using the wiki. If you are not comfortable with this, then please either signup or do not post. If you would like to make a contribution, you can email it to the Wiki Admin at (their email address).
Hope this helps.
By the way, since you are admin. Is it possible for you to delete my comments? I really feel uncomfortable with IP Address Public. You can use or add my contribution to the Galang Page. I just need my IP Address removed. (Don't block it though, in case I decided to sign up for an account in future).
