  • Hello, Brendan.

I just wanted to ask. You are, from recollection, quite knowledgeable when it comes to common.js and css coding. Moreover. You do, after all, have a bot account.

If you would take some time to respond to me, I'd like to share with you a few codes from dev.fandom.com.

Many thanks, and I wish you good health during this peculiar time.

    • It's been a while! Yes, I'm interested in seeing those codes.

    • A lot has changed around here. After many years of not giving a rat's about Survivor, I've finally managed to crawl back to this sacred world.

First of all. I recently asked Ian to add some codes into MediaWiki:common.js. These codes have seen some minor changes occur to the presentation of user-page tabs. Example found here (pardon me, as my Fandom language is set as German).

      Capture 2

Secondly, he also recently added another set of codes under my request, which has resulted in a 'translate' button being situated next to the edit buttons on all of the pages. Clicking the button then takes the reader to deepl.com with a display of a page translation.

      Capture 3

If you could take some time to check those out, and then tell me what you think, I would be greatly appreciative!

Also, on an unrelated note, I was hoping you might be able to weigh in on an ongoing discussion about the "Hispanic Contestants" category.

    • Moreover, I've got some more in mind from the Developer's Wiki, as well as some various css related changes.

    • I noticed the userpage tab change; unfortunately, the images load after the page loads, which causes layout issues on some browsers.

  • Hey so this is something minor I've noticed but in the Edge of Extinction voting table, Deven's elimination vote is marked "No Vote", but the DvG and IotI firemaking eliminations are marked "No vote". This is minor but I was hoping it could be changed.

  • Maybe a suggestion, but with Koru's chyron being gold, would it be fine to have it in set gold tribetext color?

    • This is a fairly good suggestion (and it would be a rare case of a text color that isn't black or white), though I'll have to run it by the others first.

    • Dude, I respect your past contributions here as an editor and an admin. We even joined the wiki within a week of each other back in 2012. With that said, you can't just pop up after 2 years of not editing and tell the current admin panel what to do.

My reply was par for the course with what current admins do in situations like this. Frogallin messaged Brendan, but I replied because I was the one who reverted the edit. Did either Frogallin or Brendan ask for any further clarification after my last response to them? No, so it's understood that the message was clear. Don't just insert your nose and tell people how you would want things done when this didn't even concern you in the first place.

Perhaps your style of adminship was different to what we do now, but please understand that what we're dealing with now may not be the same as when you were an admin. We've seen an influx of new users who have had less than stellar edits recently, and we can't be expected to teach them one by one on how to write. There's a certain responsibility on the part of editors to write decently as well. We've also had to deal with a lot of vandalism recently, so we as a whole cannot afford to be lenient right now.

Thank you for taking the time to teach Frogallin how to approach his edits better. Perhaps you'd like to do that for every single new editor whose edits we've had to revert as well. But don't undermine the current admin panel just because you don't like how we're operating right now.

I decided to edit the reply because the original one was quite rash. I apologise for that.

Moreover, having a sysop status or being part of an 'admin panel' should never equate to being above criticism and query. By disagreeing with you on what is, a fairly minor manner, there is no sort of 'undermining' of your nor anyone else's power. Power relations have nothing to do with this.

  • When I made that edit on Zeke's page, what I was trying to say was that it was speculation that the incident was what caused him to turn on his allies. I didn't mean anything else.

  • Hi! I've noticed that the bot seems to replace "Xth of" with just the number X, like in this edit in Benry's article. That's a bit problematic, since it turns "4th of July" into "4 July" instead of the correct "July 4" format. Also, "4th of July" is so commonly used that I think an exception should be made for this date.

    • I may still have it set to British English for some reason. I'll look it over.

  • The Australian Survivor 2019 Hex Codes, per official advertising, are:

    Contenders: ea4aac

    Champions: 2e9fb0

The current shades being used are way off. Is there anyway these could be fixed?

It'd like to do it myself but the tribecolor template was very frustratingly locked from editing.
