Depuis ses 7 ans, Mattéo vit pour sa passion : la danse classique. À 13 ans, il monte seul à Paris pour intégrer l'école de l'Opéra de Paris, puis le Conservatoire. Avec cette discipline exigeante, ne supportant pas l'approximation, Mattéo s'est forgé un caractère rigoureux. Acharné de travail, Mattéo souffre pourtant d'un cruel manque de confiance en lui. Perfectionniste, il sait qu'il doit apprendre à lâcher prise. Koh-Lanta serait le levier ultime pour comprendre ce qui est vraiment important et apprécier la simplicité des choses et des relations.

Mattéo was selected by Céline Dufrenoy to be a part of the Turung tribe. As he was the last person picked, Mattéo entered his tribe with frustration as he was upset about his perception. Maintaining a good bond with Stéphanie Tribot, Mattéo found himself in the majority going into his first Tribal Council while Céline and Setha El Hajjami were in the minority. However, after Céline was voted out and Setha was swapped over to the Ilog tribe in exchange for Ambre Daudet, Mattéo and Stéphanie found themselves at the bottom of the Turung tribe's pecking order. With Mattéo being criticized for his negativity and Stéphanie being criticized for her weakness in challenges, the pair received multiple votes against each other at their second Tribal Council with Stéphanie narrowly staying in the game over Mattéo.
