Martine started the game on the Kalooban tribe, where she bonded well with her tribemates, especially Denis Potapov. As Denis emerged as a power player and seemingly controlled the Kalooban tribe's first two eliminations, Martine served as his right-hand woman. However, the rest of the Kalooban tribe was beginning to pick up on how Denis seemed to have everybody in his back pocket and how it would be impossible for him to please everybody in the long run. As such, after losing the seventh Immunity Challenge, they made plans to split their votes between Martine and Denis while the pair targeted Maryse Lauzon. After being left out of a vote for the first time, Martine witnessed her closest ally Denis being sent home.
On Day 16, a tribe switch occurred, sending Martine to the Tiyaga tribe alongside two other Kalooban women and four original Tiyaga tribe members. Though the situation seemed bleak for the three original Kalooban women, the sole female original Tiyaga tribe member on their new tribe, Marika Guay, felt that she was at the bottom of her original alliance and wanted to throw these women a lifeline. Thus, after the Tiyaga tribe lost the eighth immunity challenge, Marika plotted with them to vote against Christophe Tiffet at Tribal Council as they were predicting that Sango Bien-Aimé would play his Hidden Immunity Idol on their ideal target, Jean-Junior Morin. However, without Marika's knowledge, Karine Lavigne-Fortin became interested in working with the men and leaked the plan to them, prompting them to turn on Marika. At Tribal Council, Karine confirmed her allegiance to the men by voting against Marika with them, eliminating her in a narrow 4-3 vote.
Going into the next cycle, Martine and Maryse were evidently on the bottom and Maryse was next in line to be eliminated after the Tiyaga tribe lost the ninth Immunity Challenge. However, Maryse's newfound closeness to Sango, coupled with Martine's dismal performance during the challenge, prompted Sango to confront Martine at Tribal Council while allowing both women a chance to plead their cases. Maryse highlighted her passion for the game, her genuine connections to everyone on the tribe regardless of past history, and her willingness to be committed to the alliance going into the merge while Martine seemed halfhearted in comparison. Convinced by Maryse's plea in spite of her long-term threat level, the alliance unanimously eliminated Martine.
