La Isla: El Reality[]
2012[]
Mariana joined the Famous tribe. From the beginning of the competition she was very enthusiastic and happy to be in the reality show, however her tribe soon proved to be the weakest and they were falling in several defeats. For the third trial of the season and second of her tribe, Julia Orayen was going to be voted out but was saved by the judges and in the revote there was a tie between Mariana and Rafa Mercadante, but Mariana managed to stay since Julia chose to vote out Rafa as she had previous conflicts with him.
Subsequently her tribe was reduced by half with the elimination of El Travieso Arce, but the tribe disappeared completely when her friend and ally Yanilen Díaz lost the Captains' Challenge, and subsequently Mariana was absorbed along with Julia by the Sol tribe. Then due to various circumstances and despite coming from another tribe, Mariana integrated very well with her new tribe and was not at risk of being voted out, making it to the merge.
At the merge, Mariana stayed loyal to her friends Ivonne Montero and Yanilen in the last trials, but it wasn't enough to keep them from being voted out. In the Deathly Duels stage, Mariana survived the first duel after defeating Celia Lora. However, Mariana failed to survive the next duel, losing to El Bofo Bautista and Gaby Fernández. Although she failed to win the season, Mariana won 100,000 Mexican pesos in the last Reward Challenge she competed in.

La Revancha[]
Mariana was assigned to the Oro tribe, where, being initially seen as one of the weakest, she always received votes in the trials she attended, but not enough to be voted out, as her good coexistence within the tribe helped her to avoid being voted out.
In the tribe switch, Mariana remained in the Oro tribe. It was until Cycle 7 that Mariana was close to being voted out, as there was a tie between her and Dr. Wagner Jr., for her luck the one who had to break the tie was Dr. Wagner's rival, Intocable Gómez, who voted him out without hesitation. In this way Mariana managed to survive and reach the merge.
In the merge, Mariana again received votes from people who thought she was the one who least deserved to be in that stage. However, Mariana again made it to the Deathly Duels stage, where she surprised everyone and proved wrong all those who thought she was weak, as Mariana won individual immunity in two consecutive cycles without having to attend any duel. When only four participants were left, a duel was held between all of them, where Mariana this time failed to defeat them and was eliminated.
