La Isla: El Reality[]
From the very first moment, María Renee was noticed as a strong contestant and built a good relationship with all her teammates, especially with Lourdes Figueroa. Her tribe was safe throughout the first stage of the competition, but when they first went to trial, she voted for Juan Ruíz, considering him the weakest of the team because of his age. When they went to the trial again, she respected her friendship with both Gaby Fernández and Lourdes, voting for Hilario Gerez, but that was not enough to save Lourdes from being voted out. In the trial before the merge, she played strategically and just like all the women, she voted for Hilario, this time getting him eliminated.
In the merge she pushed for the two remaining men to be voted out, but this was never possible because they were immune. In the first trial, she received votes from the women of the Sol tribe, but El Bofo Bautista betrayed his former tribe by voting for Ivonne Montero, the target of the Luna tribe as she was the strongest woman. In addition, Julio César Frías decided to save María Renee.
María Renee attended the first Deathly Duel, where she was the best performer. The following week she surprised everyone by beating El Bofo in the Final Challenge, so she did not have to attend that week's duel. She again won the Final Challenge of the next cycle, securing her place in the semifinal, but sadly saying goodbye to her great friend Gaby. Surprisingly, she won the semifinal against the two men and eliminated El Bofo with whom she had had some conflicts. Finally, María Renee won the Finale against Julio César, thus becoming the first Sole Survivor of La Isla: El Reality.

^1 In Episode 20, the Sol tribe saved Lourdes. As Lourdes was to be voted out but was saved by the judges, all the votes were negated and a new vote had to be taken. María Renee did not change her vote on the revote.
^2 In Episode 32, the Sol tribe saved Gaby. As Gaby was to be voted out but was saved by the judges, all the votes were negated and a new vote had to be taken. This vote ended with a 2-2-1-1 tie between Julio César and Lourdes. Therefore, the saved by the judges (Gaby) had to decide the voted out between the contestants involved in the tie.
