La Isla 2012: El Reality is the first season of La Isla.

At the end, the season was won by María Reneé Núñez after beating Julio César Frías at the Finale.

Development

This season, competition took place on locations in the Dominican Republic; Where the 18 contestants was divided into three tribes: the Celebrities (Sol (2012)), the Famous people (Estrella (2012)​) and the Fameless people (Luna (2012)).

Actor and host Alejandro Lukini is the one who welcomed the participants.

Weekly Schedule

The program airs on Azteca 7 from Mondays to Thursdays, and the schedule goes as follows:

Twists/Changes

  • Celebrities vs. Fameless: In the reality show is a group of players made up of 12 renowned Mexican and South American characters, known as the island celebrities and 6 fameless players called also the challengers.
  • Privileges: The Sol (2012) tribe, had the privilige to keep their belongings, stay in High Beach automatically, travel to the ocean in cars, and travel to the Beach in a yate. Estrella (2012) members only kept the ones they could put in a bag, stay in Medium Beach, travel to the ocean in horses and arrive at the Beach in motorboats. And Luna (2012) members where sent to Low Beach, had to walk al the way to the ocean and had to paddle out to their Beach.
  • Captains' Challenge: On Day 16, each tribe would send a captain, would compete on a challenge to see which of their tribes will prevail. The captain to lose will see their tribe dissolve. The captains were Yanilen Díaz, Lourdes Figueroa and Ricardo Casares. The winning captain was Lourdes and the loser Yanilen.
  • Tribe Absorption: On Day 17, the tribe members of the losing captain will be absorbed by the other two tribes. Thus dissolving the Estrella (2012) tribe. The members have immunity the first week in their new tribe. The captain winner can select the member that would go to their tribe, in addition the tribe would go automatically to High Beach.
  • Judges: On each trial, the tribe that wins the Immunity Challenge are judges, these will have a chance to talk to the contestants from the other Tribe, the judges will decide to save a person from the other tribe before the reading of the votes, the votes against to that person would negated. If the rescued person was to be voted out, all the votes would be negated and a new vote should be taken. In merge, the person who wins the inmmunity is the judge.
  • Tiebreaker: The person saved by the judges decides who is voted out between the contestants that are tied.
  • Deathly Duel: When 6 contestants remain, the ones without a bracelet of immunity, will face in an elimination challenge where the last place will be automatically eliminated.

Trivia

  • This is the first season in which a tribe does not vote out any of its members during the first stage, being the tribe Luna (2012)​.
  • In this season, like the Second and Third, the first voted out of the competition, is a Woman of the Orange tribe.
  • It is the first season in which two participants of the same original and absorbed tribe face each other in the Finale.
