Trials[]
Tribal Councils are called trials. The trials work differently on each season:
- On 2012, the tribe that had the Immunity Bracelets would go to Trial, and would have the power to save one contestant from the opposing tribe. At the merge, the first contestant to win the Immunity Bracelet would be the one making the decision to save another contestant.
- On 2013, the tribe that had the Immunity Bracelets would go to Trial, and would have the power to veto the result, and would make that decision before the votes are read. At the merge, the first contestant to win the Immunity Bracelet would be the one to have the power to veto the decision.
- On 2014, the losing tribe will vote to nominate two people to be eliminated, and the tribe that had the Immunity Bracelets would go to Trial, acting as a Jury, deciding who to eliminate. At the merge, the contestants who were safe would act as the jury.
- On 2015, the Pre-merge Trials work the same way as last season. At the merge, the first contestant to win the Immunity Bracelet would talk to every contestant, and then will have the power to save a contestant, this person will cast the vote before the other votes are cast. Then, the contestants (including the one with the special power) will vote to nominate two people. The decision made by the contestant will be revealed, and if neither of the two nominees were saved, they would go to a tiebreaker, where they will cast out loud their vote to eliminate a contestant.
- On 2016, the two Tribes who were safe would send an emissary, these two will have a chance to talk to two of the contestants from the other Tribe, these two emissaries will also have a vote in the trial. After the Tribe Dissolve, the safe Tribe will send two emissaries that will talk to every contestant from the other Tribe. They will still have their votes, but will also have the chance to veto the result, but only before the votes are read.
- On 2017, only one tribe will win the Immunity Challenge, meaning that two tribes will attend the Trial, before the tribes can vote, both tribes will save someone from the opposing tribe, after that, each tribe will nominate someone from their team. If one of the nominees was saved by the other tribe, then all votes will be canceled and the saved will decide the new nominee. After the Tribe Dissolve, the safe tribe will send an emissary who will nominate a contestant from the losing tribe, also the losing tribe votes to nominate another participant. If the emissary and the tribe have chosen the same nominee, the nominee will decide the other. Both nominees will compete in a Deathly Duel, where the winner will stay, and the loser will be eliminated.
Main Challenges[]
- Territorial Challenge: Tribes compete to win the best beach to live on. Everyone strives to get the key to High Beach, the best, that counts with all the luxuries, comfort, food, beds, bathrooms, drinking water, pools, a hot tub and various other luxuries for the players to rest and replenish energy by sleeping and eating well. Whoever gets second place earns the keys to Medium Beach where they don't have many amenities, a minimum ration of food, hammocks, water and roof. The loser takes the keys to Low Beach, where there is a poor food ration, don't have water and they have to found it, there are no beds, no hammocks, no ceiling, no light. In merge all are going to live to merge beach, similar to medium beach. After the merge, the merged tribe goes to the merged Beach, and this challenge gets replaced with the Reward Challenge.
- Immunity Challenge: See Immunity Challenge.
- Reward Challenge: Replaces the Territorial Challenge in the merge. See Reward Challenge. Instead of food and luxury rewards, the rewards change to being stuff like cars and trips around the world.
- Final Challenge: Losing tribes confront each other in this last game; The winning tribe is saved and the loser goes to the trial. In the second stage the members of the losing tribe play for an individual immunity. In merge, participants who did not win the Immunity Challenge compete in another game to win a second immunity bracelet or some kind of advantage. On 2017, the final challenge does not exist.
- Deathly Duel: Replaces trials in final 6. The player who loses the challenge is eliminated.
- Grand Finale: The finalists compete in one final challenge, usually the longest challenge of the season. This challenge determines the Sole Survivor, earning them the MXN$2,000,000 prize.
