Koh-Lanta: Panama is the fourth season of Koh-Lanta. It was broadcast on TF1 from July 2, 2004 to August 31, 2004.

Philippe Bordier defeated Linda Alario in a 7-0 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor. To date, this season has produced four returning players (Catherine Ehret-Mader, Linda Alario, Philippe Bordier and Romuald Lafite) for future seasons.

Production

Like Bocas del Toro, this season was held in Panama, but this time, filming took place in the Pearl Islands.

Twists

• Battle of the Sexes: For the first time, the castaways were divided into tribes based on gender. Mogo consisted of only men, and Chapera consisted of only women.
• One-Time Exile: Following the first Immunity Challenge, one member of the losing tribe, as chosen by the winning tribe, would be exiled from camp for the next 48 hours.
• Tribe Switch: On Day 8, the scouts chosen on Day 1, alongside one person they each selected, were summoned by Denis Brogniart. He revealed that they would be switching tribes.
• Replacements: Due to the evacuations of Vidéli Dittmar and Odile Héritier, Sophie Eeckhout and Linda Alario returned to the game to replace them respectively.

Notes: ^1 The platform that was supposed to keep the Mogo tribe up collapsed under the weight of the castaways. Neither tribe won the challenge, but both Mogo and Chapera received a fishing kit to fix this issue. ^2 As the two ambassadors for the merge tribe, Philippe and Romuald had to cast an extra vote for someone at the first post-merge Tribal Council. They chose to cast an extra vote against Guillaume. ^3 Since Linda returned after the immunity challenge for the cycle occurred, she was made immune from the vote to compensate that fact. ^4For coming in last place during the Orienteering challenge, Romuald received a penalty vote at the next Tribal Council.
