Koh-Lanta: Les Armes Secrètes is the twenty-sixth season of Koh-Lanta. It was broadcast on TF1 from March 12 to June 4, 2021.

Maxine Eouzan defeated Lucie Bertaud in a 9-4 jury vote to become the Sole Survivor.

Twists/Changes

• Tribe Captains: After their arrival, the castaways immediately compete in a Reward Challenge where they are randomly divided in ten pairs, each consisting of a man and a woman. The first two pairs to complete the challenge become the captains of the two tribes, which they select in a Schoolyard Pick.
• Penalty Vote after Challenge: The two pairs of castaways that come in last at the inaugural Reward Challenge each receive a penalty vote against them at their first Tribal Council. At the third individual Immunity Challenge, the castaways are divided in two groups that compete separately for immunity, and the castaways that come in last in each group both receive a penalty vote against them at Tribal Council. Penalty votes do not extend through a revote.
• Immunity Necklaces: At the beginning of the game, Immunity Necklaces (equivalent of Hidden Immunity Idols in Koh-Lanta) are hidden on both original tribes' camps. Some of them are only playable until the first post-merge Tribal Council.
• Secret Weapons: After the first Immunity Challenge, the castaways are told that several Secret Weapons, each of them with a yet undisclosed power, have been hidden on both camps. Those Secret Weapons are:
  • Captains' Talismans: A special Secret Weapon given to the two pairs of tribe captains after the inaugural Reward Challenge. Each captain receives a half of a talisman. It can be used at Tribal Council in two possible ways: if a captain decides on their own to use their half, they become immune from the vote, while the other captain's half loses its power. If the two captains decide to use their halves together, they both receive an Extra Vote advantage at that Tribal Council. The talismans are playable until the first post-merge Tribal Council.
  • Double or Quits: Allows one castaway to challenge a tribemate to a duel at Tribal Council. The winning castaway becomes immune from the vote, while the losing castaway receives a penalty vote against them.
  • Black Bracelet: Allows one castaway to steal an Immunity Necklace after it has been played.
  • Vote Diversion: Allows one castaway to steal a vote from another castaway at Tribal Council.
  • Secret Ambassador: The founder of this advantage reveals themself when the merge is announced. They receive an immunity from the ambassadors meeting's elimination and are told to leave on a separate island until the ambassadors return. Unbeknownst to the other castaways, they can eavesdrop on the ambassadors meeting, before joining it midway through. They can then participate in the decision of eliminating a castaway from the game, and force the two regular ambassadors to draw rocks if they do not agree with their decision.
  • Instant Necklace: An Immunity Necklace that is only playable at the first Tribal Council after it was found.
• Additional Castaway: After the Day 5 Reward Challenge, Lucie Bertaud joins the winning tribe. She receives an immunity for the following Tribal Council, should her new tribe lose the corresponding Immunity Challenge.
• Impromptu Tribal Council: Before the Day 13 Reward Challenge, the castaways are told that the losing tribe would be "penalized." After the challenge, it is revealed to the losing tribe that they were also competing for immunity, and a Tribal Council is held immediately at the challenge site.
• Ambassadors: At the merge, both tribes must appoint a castaway from the opposite tribe to attend the ambassadors meeting, where their purpose is to directly eliminate a castaway from the game. The Secret Ambassador joins the meeting midway through and participates in the decision. If the ambassadors do not agree on a name, one of the two regular ambassadors is eliminated by a rock draw.
• Black Vote: Starting from the first post-merge Tribal Council, the person voted out gives to a remaining castaway the power to vote twice at the following Tribal Council. The Black Vote does not extend through a revote.
• Sudden Death Challenge: After the second individual Immunity Challenge, the castaway who comes in last in the challege and another castaway chosen by the winner of the challenge take part in a duel where the winner becomes immune from Tribal Council while the loser is directly eliminated from the game. Another sudden death challenge takes place at the sixth individual Immunity Challenge, where the castaway who comes in last is directly eliminated from the game.
• Tied Destinies: On Day 24, the ten remaining castaways are divided into five pairs by a rock draw. Until the next Tribal Council, the fate of each contestant is linked to their partner: the challenges are competed by pairs, and the person voted out at Tribal Council causes their partner's demise.

Trivia

• Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the producers had to look for another destination for filming. They considered several places, including Croatia, various French overseas territories and even Corsica. Those destinations were ultimately not selected, due to tourism, not enough accomodation, and also "the lack of escaping power viewers expect from a show like Koh-Lanta". They finally set on French Polynesia, where they couldn't film before due to tourism, and they used a cruise ship to accomodate the production teams.
